On May 15th we are starting an IMSA Multi Class series made up of Prototype and GTLM cars. The the two DP’s (Corvette and Ford Riley which are DLC) have been tuned so they are equal to one another will be the Prototype class and running as stock will be the GTLM cars for the GT class.
People who choose DP cars must take part in ‘over take practise sessions’ to get used to getting through GTLM traffic clean without disturbing their race, and GTLM drivers need to be aware of fast approaching DP cars, so mic communication is a must. If not feeling confident to get through traffic then GTLM probably a safer choice. Below is post one from our website detailing where we are upto before we start the season. If interested to join please message here or send me a PM and join forum www.icracing.co.uk
Taken from our website:
Prototypes
Using LMR Hybrid tune the Ford Riley DP and K4L’s for the Corvette DP. They are DLC choice only, also if picking this option please take part in ‘over taking GTLM traffic’ sessions. As a guide, the GTLM will not move off their racing line in most cases so it is upto the Prototype driver to get round when it is safe, no forcing off or cutting off the GTLM driver. Mic communication also very helpful so you can shout up to say if you will pass on left or right or after next corner, this is useful for both your self and the GTLM driver.
TUNE for Corvette DP = LMR Hybrid tune called ‘rich’
TUNE for Ford Riley DP = xK4LxMrCrAzle
GTLM
We tested these all as stock quite thoroughly for when we ran the Tudor GTLM series, so we know those are good to go as stock.
Full Car Choice Running Stock:
Ferrari 458 #62
Dodge Viper #93
Corvette C7 #3
The Porsche and BMW Z4 need tunes to balance them with the above GTLM cars.
Porsche 2011 Flying Lizard (tune by ‘The Chancee’)
BMW Z4 #55, #56 (tune by Havana B0B)
Fuel
Again we are covered for the GTLM as we know they are ok with each other, the Ferrari runs out quicker, but to make sure it’s fair I’ll only set the race length so that everyone has equal amount of pit stops. We now have both DP’s balanced quite well for fuel so race length will also be determined that both DP cars will pit the same amount of times.
Race Set Up
Due to recent updates on FM6 we have no switched to ‘distance travelled’ with races generally lasting around 60mins so that DP cars need to pit twice and GTLM just need to pit once. The new FM6 features allow us to do a qual session that sets the grid for the race using the ‘best lap’ feature.
