I will no longer play Forza Motorsport until I receive an apology from the developers

Update
To be clear: my request is a provocation. It is clear that no one will respond to me and the Forza Motorsport gaming community. Mine was purely an outburst culminating in a game crash a few centimeters from the last corner of an online Endurance race.
However, I keep my promise, I will test the game after every future patch until stability becomes a priority. Under these conditions and after last night’s frustration, I’d rather play something else.
Thanks anyway to those who understood the real meaning of my original message.

Original message
I have been playing Forza Motorsport since day one. I bought the Premium Add-on Bundle, so I started playing 5 days before the official launch.

I play on Xbox Series X, using a Logitech G920 steering wheel (with 3Drap brake mod, Acelift GT wheel) and various accessories to feel even more immersed in the simulation (Sparco shoes and gloves, smartphone holder with Dashpanel, etc.).

I have participated and organized several championships with friends and new players, enjoying myself multiple times a week, and in general, I have loved Forza Motorsport since the first installment in 2005.

Unfortunately, the game keeps crashing disgracefully, and tonight I literally exploded. After the last two updates, the situation has worsened, with even more frequent crashes that make you really hate this game.

Tonight, as I said, I reached my limit.

I was doing an Endurance race in the Touring category at Kyalami. I was having an excellent race, starting in pole position, staying in the lead with about a 7-10 second advantage over the second place until the last lap (the 31st). During the last lap, the game started malfunctioning. The rearview mirrors flickered, occasionally turned black, and I crossed my fingers hoping it wouldn’t crash before the finish line. Hairpin turn, steep descent. I think, “just a few more turns, we made it.” I take the penultimate turn, see the pit exit and the last turn, and the game kicks me out… black screen with music and a spinning wheel, and after a few seconds, the game closes. The Xbox Series X dashboard appears, and I am speechless.

This is my last race in Forza Motorsport, at least until the developers acknowledge that this game is a disaster and publicly apologize to me and all of us players for the disastrous state it is in after almost nine months.

Today I played a lot. Forza Motorsport crashed 4 times. In a long race in the Forza GT category, a few turns after leaving the first pit stop, the steering wheel suddenly stopped working (I could accelerate but not steer), shortly after it started working again, but from third place, I found myself in sixteenth. After two laps, the game disconnected me from the multiplayer session, I ended up in the main menu, and a few moments later, it crashed.

Even with all these problems, I didn’t give up; I always hoped for miracles and after a few hours, I started playing again.

The arrival of Endurance races has made it even more evident that this game isn’t even in beta. It’s in an even worse state. Doing a 31-lap race and seeing the game crash a few meters from the last turn is really disheartening.

I really have reached my limit. An hour of racing, an hour of my life, literally wasted because of a game that doesn’t work.

Turn10 developers, Microsoft administrators, please realize that it cannot go on like this. This game “built from the ground up” is actually “underground.”

Sorry for the outburst. I’m really exhausted.

Sadly they never respond

Woah woah let’s come back to reality here. This is an unreasonable expectation.

Literally? How did you survive? :boom:

Apparently this was a posthumous post.

My condolences.

Keep waiting on that apology from them…

Until the game gets a proper “2.0”, everyone has to change their mindset and expectations. Otherwise you will get mad over and over again.

In the meantime try to make it fun, put a dollar in a jar every time the game crashes, the new Corvette ZR1 is just a few hundred thousand returns to dash away!

Like the allegorical boiling frog, the gradual lowering of expectations over time is how things got this bad.

They aren’t going to personally apologize to you.

Weirdly enough at the start of this update i was alot and getting phantom race end timers and all that. But the past week or two i havent goten a single crash so i assume they did some work behind the scenes.

But yeah they aren’t going to apologize to you. You experienced pretty much the most annoying time to crash in this game imaginable (maybe could be beaten by a legit 18 hour SP endurance race but thank god they don’t do that nonsense.)

Is understandable you’d make this post as a reaction.

Buy one lottery ticket every day and see what happens first: either the developers offer you an apology, or you suddenly have enough money to just race IRL :smirk:

We are the ones that should be giving our condolences for a game that should have made it but instead it’s dying.

I’m so sorry that you (Turn10) were unable to keep your product stable after all those years you spent trying to release something new and when you did nobody liked it, like the CarPG

I’m crying into my beer as I type this, I can see the Turn10 logo at the bottom of the glass and really do feel bad for all those developers of the Forza Motorsport franchise that worked so hard in creating a great racing game to rival the Gran Turismo franchise up until this installment.

So to all of you that worked from the OG up to Forza Motorsport 7, I am truly sorry for your loss and all the work you put into the last 19 years of racing goodness

They aren’t going to apologize to you or anyone else about this game. Aftrr all, it won some pointless and totally undeserved award and they’ll never let us forget that! They’re not going to talk to us about game issues or anything else. We’ll get those occasional blurbs of bragging about all the neat stuff they’re changing and adding to the game. And then they’ll ignore us afterwards when we start turning in all the bug reports their nee neat stuff brought along with it.

No apologies just promises, no promises.

They have talked to us about the issues though, and have made strides to fix them. They’ve laid out their plan for all to see and now all we can do is wait to see if they follow through.

And all their promises have been backed up by “no promises”. And every update has contained new bugs and glitches.

I do wonder at the disparity in the game crashes between different players. Every so often on my Series X it will crash, but since it came out it’s not been a major issue for me, quite rare. Used to play Perf RT until I couldn’t stand the low quality, so last few months has been Performance.

I wonder why only some players seem to suffer with it so often and badly.

Have they?

As far as I’m aware, there has been no comment or even acknowledgement of the bare bones nature of the career mode or any suggestion that they are going to improve it.

There’s also been no acknowledgement of the frequent crashing many people are experiencing since circa Update 8.1 or explanation of when it will be fixed.

It seems to me that they’ve only acknowledged a couple of issues with the game and, even then, the only one that has been fully fixed has been the car points, about 6 months later than it should have been.

Man that’s rough for you. The crashing issue is pathetic. Can’t believe it hasn’t been hot fixed. Beyond belief

I would like to understand it too. Sometimes when I talk to friends or members of other communities they think I am joking.
There are the lucky ones with 1-2 crashes a month and the unlucky ones with 4 crashes in a day.
I clean the console regularly, with compressed air to also remove dust from inside. The other games don’t suffer from any problems, also because it’s not the console that crashes but Forza Motorsport that crashes suddenly (sometimes anticipating crashes with graphical glitches that might suggest a hardware problem). If I restart the game immediately after the crash (which sometimes occurs even a few minutes after starting my session) if I’m lucky I can do 6-7 races without a hitch.
Lately, however, the situation has really worsened. Yesterday I went over the limit. The crash just before the last corner of the last lap after 31 laps really took all hope out of me.
Thanks for your message.
