Sometimes I feel like I nail a section and get like a 4.4 while other times I feel like it was terribly sloppy and get a 8. It just didn’t make sense to me at all. And then it hit me: Clearly, they’re grading on a curve.

Its based on how fast you cross the segment. Like a mini time attack, or Speed Zone in Horizon.
My biggest gripe is how to get the segment number consistently/reasonably high and how do you improve it if you are not told how to.
Please do not suggest practice each segment until high score is obtained as I have a life!
No, its just something you get while driving in practice, racing, rivals.
If you pass a curve in a track you know well, you’ll notice the 9.7 and sometimes 10 number along the CXP50
