I thought this Drivatar issue was fixed or improved?

This screenshot tells otherwise. This is the first race I’ve played since the update. I stopped playing because I was fed up of not even having a chance to win.

Played with average Drivatar difficulty. As you can see, the top 2 are miles ahead.

I really am done with this game until this can be fixed. I don’t expect to be able to win every race. I expect to have a fair shot though.

At this point, I feel like I wasted my money. I don’t buy many games, especially as pre-orders. Thanks for totalling ballsing this one up T10.

I think I have only lost one race in career mode, and it was on the old Monza circuit, which is very fast. I play on the difficulty that gives +35% (highly skilled?), and I could not catch the leader (his car simply had a higher top speed). But in other races I overtake everyone on lap 2 or 3 and I have time to try and get a good lap.
I also had problems with Formula E, but that was due to handling, I was sliding around every corner, and the AI was not.

Yes, one or two drivatars are always faster than the rest, but that has basically never stopped me from winning. It was exactly the same in FM5, and I had no problems there either. Maybe you should just lower the difficulty level, there is no shame in that, this game can be tricky.
If their best laps are faster than yours, then it is not a problem of you not having time to catch them. You are just not quick enough (it can be you, or it can be your car).

To be honest, this kind of post is in no way helpful. This problem is prevalent even in the lowest difficulty. This is something acknowledged by T10 themselves, and the latest update was supposed to improve it if not fix it. It hasn’t.

It is helpful. Some of us genuinely don’t have a problem with it and are posting our experience. I’ve never had a Drivatar be completely out of reach even on the hardest setting unless I was just flat out unfamiliar/terrible on a track or with a certain car as long as my car is comparable and I’ve tuned it properly. Genuine question, do you tune your setups for each track? Or just try to run vanilla and hope for the best? Tunes are critical (unless the class requires fully stock cars of course) and you’ll never be on par with a basic setup. And you need to tune for each track specifically to get the best out of you car.

Also, do you use assists? Much like real life, each assist can drastically impact performance (especially TCS, stability control, ABS, and automatic shifting). This would be relevant information too.

In fact, since the last update they seem to be even slower and not nearly as much gap between each Drivatar so it’s very curious what you’re experiencing, though I have no doubt you’re experiencing it!

Ok, yes I do use assists. And I do play with the tunings, although not to the degree of people who are properly clued up on what to do. And I use these assists, because I’ll be honest, I’m not great at the game.

However, going back to Forza 4 (I didn’t play 5 as I only got my Xbox One in July), I could play on average difficulty, not really worry about tuning and I’d be in for a fight but I was always in with a shout (unless I made a really stupid mistake) even if I didn’t win.

Here’s the thing though, traditionally the easiest difficulty has always been set so even a complete moron could win. When you’re playing on this difficulty (which I have tried) and even then there’s a super AI driver lapping seconds better than anybody else, something is wrong.

And the fact is, T10 have acknowledged there’s an issue, but I don’t see a lot being done about it.

My experience is similar to others with the drivatars being signifcantly faster. I am no expert in this game and am disabled and play on the lowest difficulty and I do use some of the assists and drivatars do indeed dissapear into the distance and post lap times (checked on the results page) many seconds faster than I can do trying as hard as I can and like I said I’m no Forza expert but seriously being on the lowest difficulty setting and still no chance of winning is very soul destroying. I understood this was supposed to be a setting to allow those of us who have difficulties etc a chance to play the game and feel at least competitive.

I’ve been having this problem in career mode. One friend (who has a lot of the Forza games but not 6) was insanely good, winning a 5 lap race by 30+ seconds even on New Driver difficulty. I tried temporarily removing him from my friends list until I’d completed that series, and he hasn’t reappeared since. Only problem is he was replaced by someone else who is almost as good! 2nd place often shot off as well, but I have found that by setting it to Pro difficulty I can beat him and the rest of the pack fairly comfortably, but still nowhere near the leader.

When I try the Showcase or Free Play events I don’t get this problem, and on lower difficulties I can win at an absolute canter, but the career is impossible to get first place. Yes I know tuning is a big part of the games, but it’s never been necessary to touch them on the lower difficulties. It is somewhat like releasing a sports game where you can only ever come 2nd in the league!

So, I look at the notes in the November update and see there is STILL no fix for this.

This is a major issue for a sizeable number of players and they are seemingly ignoring it, despite previously acknowledging it as a bug. Thanks for nothing T10, I’m so glad I spent my money on this broken game.
