I made a race I’m pretty proud of

I’m not sure if “advertising” my race is allowed in the discussion forums, so if this gets removed then oh well.

I made a race I’m pretty proud of and I find it pretty fun and wanted to let everyone know how to race it if they want. It’s located at the Ambleside Scramble event just below the giant lake in the bottom left-ish corner of the map. It’s a dirt racing event and right now my blueprint is made for rally monsters.

The race was created to simulate real rally racing, as in it is a point A to point B race that takes place mostly on very thin twisting dirt roads. It’s a challenging track but is a lot of fun.

My GT is “Carbine Element” and the name of the Race is “The Lake Trial!” As it takes you around the edge of the lake.

I’m pretty proud of this race because I tried really hard to make it seem like a race that’s included in the game: good racing line, checkpoints that prevent cutting the track, and the entirety of the race stays on either a dirt or paved road I.e. no cross country sections.

If anyone tries the race give me some feedback:)

I’m going to try it out now. I’ll let you know what I think.

Alright

It’s a very difficult track overall, and very long. You get to 3 checkpoints close to each other, and it’s hard to hit the 3rd, because they zig zag. At that point it would be a better track if it ended there after fixing the zig zag. After that it is all twist, and turns, you just get dizzy. So I would get rid of all the twists at the end, and half the track size.

I’ll give it another try though… eventually.

Yeah it’s a long track and yes there’s lots of twists and turns but that’s purposeful. If you’ve ever played a game like dirt rally or watched a dash cam of a real rally race, that’s how the roads look that they drive on. A lot of the dirt tracks in forza are on really wide roads and are really easy. The goal of this race was to make a challenge for seasoned rally racers and from your response I’m thinking I was pretty successful.

And as for the race length, again it’s on purpose. I wanted to make a track go around the entire lake which means it’s gonna be a pretty long track. And again catering to being a challenge

OK I just watched a dash cam race. I probably picked too fast a car, I was going twice as fast as the rally car.

I personally dont blame you for “advertising” your custom blueprint via the forum. There are means and ways of listing your tracks however (inc descriptions, pics, route etc).I have seen quite a few users creating these pages and certainly makes it a lot easier for people to find interesting community custom blueprints. As to how you start the process i have no idea and will look into it further.

Slightly off topic though.I have recently found all “new” races in the creative hub seem to be just a change of car class and not a custom route.Makes my blood boil that PG are not showing FH4 gamers the respect they deserve when they create something for the community, only for it to go unnoticed over a 2min changed blueprint.Furthermore, only your first custom/changed blueprint will ever be shown publically in the creative hub per location. After this you have to manually search, add favourite or fast travel to the start point to find or run the custom route.I have made over 70 custom routes and yet if these do not get hits from the outset your left driving these blueprints with friends as they go unnoticed for their duration.

I will give your “custom” a run as you seem to be quite proud of your achievement.

Edit: Enjoyable run. Some checkpoints are a little tight.Could do with been Rally" only as the checkpoints were tight and i found it hard to drive around a transit van whilst hitting the checkpoints. Its a long run but a large percentage of my customs are a little on the long side. Not keen on night races as it messes with these old eyeballs (it’s just a me thing). But overall great work.Thumbs up given.

Thanks for the feedback.

I made two variations of the race, one with rally monsters only and one with anything goes.

I’ll give a go, i like a challenge

I really liked it. Ran a 9:40 on my first try with a few mistakes, none rewind worthy though. The 3 flag thing near Mortimer gardens is only because the game just loads 2 at a time, anybody that does more than one run will be fine. The only thing I’d do is make another event with the season set to “current” and rolling weather and time of day so I can do it in the rain and maybe open up the classes so you can take slower rally cars from A class into it.

I made a ~16-18 per lap minute rally circuit and had to skimp on the flags before I ran out (had to remake it twice). I think most people will probably generally follow the line and aren’t likely to cut a fast and narrow rally course.

Nice.

The three checkpoints at the garden admittedly aren’t very friendly to someone racing the course for the first time, but as long as you stick to the road and follow the braking line then you should be fine.

But thanks for the feedback, I’m glad you liked it
