Having just completed the grueling Sebring 300 and La Mans 250 races, I noticed something during both races - the time of day doesn’t seem to change during either race. During the Sebring race the weather is partly cloudy with the sun peering through the clouds for the entirety of the 82 lap race. During the La Mans race the skies are dull overcast gray for the entire 29 lap race. It seems to me that if the race started in daylight then gradually went to dusk and then nighttime followed by dawn and then daylight again during each of these races. Well, you get the idea. To me it would seem much more like an actual 24 hour race.
I expected the same in this races. A day night day cycle.
But for that to happen, the game need to support dynamic weather / day and night cycles.
Forza 7 seems to be scripted.
Just 4k bling bling…
Yeah, as nice as a day/night cycle would be, cycling through a full day in a couple of hours does nothing for immersion. The game does support evening/night and night/dawn transitions though, and it would have been nice to at least have this during the endurance races.
I would like to give it a go on Le Mans if it had some form of progress save. I don’t mean so I can take a week to do it but a CTD on the 23H.59M or at the rewards payout screen would set off the fireworks off not seen here before or likely again and knowing my luck it would happen. It would be cool with a couple of friends as backup drivers .and see it through non-stop. Few Level Ups and maybe a little CR I would imagine.
Well If you Sellected Nurenburg Ring GP circuit 1,000 laps using the Forza Edition Car for the Ring maxed out would take you 37 and a half hours netting you if you had max Mods 37,000,000 in creds and about 90 Level up rewards Happy racing peeps.
24 hours might be a stretch but 12 hours is very doable and with dynamic weather would be a blast. Two or three friends, two or three six packs, fire up the bbq at the 6 hour mark. Say 30 minutes at a time in the Obutto then driver switch, have a cold beverage maybe a tri-tip sandwich watch a little football, good times people.
It would be fantastic if there was a function to actually change player in-game mid-race. You pit, your driver jumps out, another driver (from a different gamertag) jumps in, and at the end you split the rewards.
Sadly, there is no in-race save function. You are expected to complete the entire endurance race in one sitting. I would strongly urge Turn 10 to look into adding a save feature for these types of races in future FM installments.
Especially with the game being so unstable. Some people are frightened to do 24 minutes, let alone 24 hours in one sitting. There should be a save/resume feature on longer races so at least you could save every few laps or so, meaning you wouldn’t lose as much if you DID get CTD…
