As title states. Off-Roading will rip my arm off and its great but as soon as i hit tarmac i feel nothing at all. No road feel or even loss of grip. I am hoping this is a glitch or will be addressed and yes i have played will all the settings i could find even the new wheel settings. Thanks for your input its much appreciated.
Yeah there’s little to no detail in the FFB unless you’re on the dirt. It’s really bad.
At least its not only me. Thanks for the input !
I came to the forums just now to discuss this. I started the demo playing with my controller, then went on to activate my Logitech G920. First thing I noticed was I didn’t get any feedback at all, not even vibration.
Found this thread and drove off the tarmac, and it suddenly worked.
Seems that it’s not just your wheel, but the game itself. I hope this is not an issue in the real game and I don’t see any options to select my wheel either. (I take it I could select what wheel I’m using since they added wheel support, right? Or did I completely misunderstand?)
Well, that’s a shame, was really looking forward to check if they had improved the horrible FFB from FM6… Let’s hope it’s just a bug.
Same here, I use the Mad Catz FFB Pro wheel. Off road fine, zero FFB on the road. No weight, and no sign of wheels losing grip. I even loaded FH2 to compare and make sure I wasn’t crazy, huge difference. I really hope this is just an issue with the demo and will be no problem in the final product.
i did notice at 1st until i picked a car and tuned it for drifting then it did start to have some FFB but not like FM6 and FH2
I tried some more and in all honesty, don’t even bother setting up your wheel. It’s trash right now. Demo is unplayable with a wheel in my opinion.
Thanks everyone for your input .
Running a Thrustmaster TX here and it’s the game not our wheels. If you turn the FFB up you get half decent feel on tarmac but as soon as you hit dirt it’s way too tight and you can’t lower it or you lose all feel on tarmac. I’ve also noticed that even though the wheel is set to 900 degrees the cars turn in way too easily, barely tilting the wheel gets you through most corners. This is not good.
Honestly the FFB and general driving was almost perfect in Horizon 2, why change it to this?
EDIT: Dialing the linearity down slightly makes the turn in feel better so that’s one problem sorted.
My Clutch is my GAS on my Thrustmaster TX, The same thing on the non beta version APEX?
I have a T3PA-PRO ADD-ON <---- TURN 10 please add to support ticket and make a first day patch, thanks
You have to hold the mode button till it turns green. If its already green make it red.
I’m using the TX also, no button layout with a horn input??? That’s kind of a problem…
For everyone that feels very little ffb, you basically cant use 900 dor at all. It has to be set to 540 or lower. I really hope this is a bug because i dont like running less than 900 but ive been forced to basically use 360.
I have to say when i first played the demo i was using the controller and it felt great. Decided to restart and try the wheel and needless to say but i am extremely dissapointed. It has kind of taken the wind out from under my sails to be honest.
After the monstrous wheel thread on forza 6, literally not one thing seems to have changed. If anything its alot worse than forza 6, i didnt think horizon 2 was much better so i cant share some peoples sentiment with that.
They just added some more ffb sliders and increase ffb strength slider to 200 on forza apex. They also allowed you to map the buttons, yet none of these have come to horizon 3 on xbox. They didnt implement that dashboard cam from e3 even though almost every person who used the wheel and interviewed them asked about it.
I just dont know anymore, i just cant see how time and time again wheel users just get brushed to the side like this. How many more people have to buy one until its important enough?
After my dissapointment with the wheel implementation, i started to see things in a more negative light, similiar to what happened to me when i played forza 6 with the wheel. All of the enjoyment i had with the controller was gone and i just couldnt get over how bad the wheel felt.
It also made me look at other things about the game like the fact that a lot of things are basically a copy and paste job of horizon 2. It definitely looks better, i think the colors look more natural, the sky looks nice and the added water effects are good, the sounds are aso good but im just not 100% about this game anymore.
The handling physics seem to have been dumbed down even more with all the cars ive used, grip seems to be neverending. The drivatars on unbeatable were anything but (this may change for the real game), and i noticed some rubberbanding which if true is just ridiculous.
If i didn’t know better id say its just a demo and all these things will be different in the real game but i know that wont be the case. The wheel ffb and all the other options people have asked for since having to buy these super special “next gen” wheels will seemingly be ignored as usual. Its just very dissapointing to see this happen yet again with a new forza title.
this has pretty much been the case since Forza 3. its gone downhill ever since.
another thing that has really dissapointed me as a wheel user is, i noticed when they were showing off the PC version they had a close up cockpit view with the in game wheel removed from view. perfect for rig users, but its not in the xbone demo so i’m guessing us console users do not get this option, which imo there’s no excuse for this.
i have a wicked rig setup, was going to give FH3 a good go with the wheel, but as with all forza’s there isnt really a decent viewpoint to use at all, this one looks amazing, yet only pc gets it, what the hell
and i cannot see any technical limitations being the reason, the fov isnt wider, there’s less on screen, outright silly (or lazy) decision if you ask me
Same problem here with my TX wheel. On tarmac no FFB at all. I turned my FFB up to 100 but it didn’t solve the problem.
After the wheel update on apex I was really looking forward to the ffb on fh3. I got to say I’m pretty dissapointed. The off-roaring feels great on the wheel (still personally think it needs to heavier like apex) but the off-roading in general feels fantastic. But the minute you get on the tarmac the feel for the car is completely gone… there feels like there’s no connection to the road from the tires and the car feels like its scating across the tarmac… there’s no sense of a loss of grip or a sense of grip at all in my opinion. Personally I think they should give us the opportunity to increase the ffb more because I feel it’s still too weak and give us all those settings in apex. They have to really change how the wheel feels for the full game because it’s almost unplayable. So so dissapointed. I run 100% FFB at 900¤ on my tx if your wondering. I know it’s an arcade game but the wheel feels ridiculous… please turn 10 I’m begging you to fix this.
Same here! Was so looking forward to this game on the TX wheel. Its not even close to Horizon 2
I can only pray that there will be a patch for this but from experience with Forza 6 and wheels, they never updated it, always felt like driving on ice, no don’t really have any hope. I guess the 5%, at most, of the player base using a wheel is not priority for them, controller will always be priority. Back to Assetto and praying for DLC…
I’m now depressed
Same with the G920, in the tarmac the steering in really light, no feel. This is a shame because the game is amazing.
Maybe this thread should be turned into the official steering wheel support thread. There are many things left to improve …
