I configured my Driving Force GT wheel in Forza Motorsport 7 (PC). I can use it in race, it works fine. But how can I navigate through the menu with the wheel? I cannot use any button of the wheel while being in the game menu. I don’t want to grab my mouse every time I want to change some options or start the next race.
Not 100% sure but thought I had read somewhere that for some reason the UI bindings (meaning menu operations) are completely independent of the driving buttons. This means while the button labels are the same, wheel buttons only have an effect on functions that exist when actually driving e.g look left, look right, change camera view etc.
No idea why this is the case but definitely something Turn 10 should be addressing - issue has been around since game launch so I don’t have high hopes any of this is going to be addressed.
I don’t think that generally correct, though it may be for that wheel. My TMX Pro supports most of the UI via the on-wheel controls. About the only thing I can’t do is the free look, and such that require whatever the direction/push button function is called, but those are fairly edge functions for me. Otherwise it’s fully functional with just the wheel controls.
