Hello, I am new to painting and have started creating a replica livery. I have made the decals as vinyl groups but when I go to apply them to the car I can’t quite get some of them to be the perfect size, 0.08 is too large but 0.07 is too small. Is there any way around this?
My first thought was to make the vinyl group much smaller but I realized that it simply uses the same scale values when applying it. Is there a specific way to start vinyl groups to make sure the sizing will be good?
Since they’re your groups, once one the car ungroup and regroup them after shrinking them to close the size you want. It should reset the size to 1.0 at that point. You can also save it to a new group then to save it scaled smaller.

You can also add a new vinyl (any simple shape will do) and select it at the same time as your vinyl group. Then you can change the size of the two together, with it starting at 1.00. This technique is useful because you can use it on downloaded vinyl groups.
I download most of my vinyls because I am the lazy.
