I play Forza 6 & 7 with a wheel. The problems start in ForzaVista: you really need a controller to be able to navigate and admire the cars. How do I get a controller active at the same time as the wheel is connected?
If you’re on Xbox, I just turn mine on.
To be fair my wheel is pretty much always connected, even though I don’t use it as much as I should.
So I usually boot the Xbox and sign in to the game with my controller (but my wheel is on and plugged in). When I get in to forza and I intend to use the wheel, I just load up the race or Rivals I intend to run. Then switch off my controller - this asks me which controller I want to use and which profile to use. I just select my GT with A on the wheel, which activates the wheel to use in the race.
If I need to tune the car or something, which needs the controller, I just turn it back on. Seems to work for me.
