Apparently I missed the part at the beginning of the game where they introduce you to skill songs. I’ve been playing for a week now and just found out about them from a friend. Is there any way - other than just spending 30 minutes on each station waiting for it to come on - to find out what my skill song is?

No pretty much have to wait it out. There is a reusable perk on skill page that is all the way at top and it allows you to use 10 skill points to play again. I’ve not experimented with differing radio station to know whether one plays more or less skill songs. I’m way past this in my game. I’ve got all perks and I often using skill boost car get more skill XP and points in races then I need to keep using the reusable perks.
On Vargant there seems to come out 1 skill song once in every 1-1.5h time.
The station which plays classical music, (Timeless?) they are more rare, but they last very wery long.
(Average skill song ar around 3 minutes, but the classical station thy might last for 7-9 minutes)
There will be timer on top of the screen when skill song pops on, so that’s one place where you can spot it going on. How ever, I think you need to be in free roam (Not in race)
yeah, you don’t actually have a single skill song. Every now and then the game will just designate a song that is playing as a skill song and you will get double points. If you have been playing the game you would have played through a couple already, you may have just not noticed. The point above is a good one, I often get long ones on the classical station.

The selection from Beethoven’s 9th clocks in at more than 22 minutes. That, plus Horizon Edition Focus, plus other perks, plus vineyards or banana plantations…it’s beautiful.
Changing the station looking for a skill song might be killing your chances of getting one 
The DJ’s choose at the start of the song whether it’s a skill song or not.
Just pick a station and you’ll get them. The perk seems to greatly increase their chance, I hear them all the time driving around… even started ignoring them

I’ve noticed (anecdotally; this could be faulty perception) that after I’ve turned off the radio for a while and then turn it back on, a Skill Song comes around pretty promptly.
I have seen this as well.
Noticed that too, so these days before turning off the game I turn my radio off. then the next time I’m playing I just go to the banana plantation area, press left to turn on Timeless radio and the next song played will usually be a skill song.
Ok well in that case, I am pretty sure something must have gone wrong in my game. I now have 23 hours of playtime, a large majority with the radio on, and not had a skill song come on.
Have you been unlocking perks in the skill shop? The first perk in the “skills” section enables skill songs.

I get the impression that skill songs go on a long cooldown timer. Even if the radio is off, the timer keeps ticking down to zero. So when you turn the radio back on (to any station), you get a skill song right away.
Occasionally, I lose my 2X multiplier during a skill song. I’m wondering it it’s related to botching up a skill chain. Doesn’t happen often, but it’s annoying.
I have over 50 hours of drive time, almost 5 days play time, yet I have had 0 skill songs. I dunno what is up with my game. I usually don’t change the radio station, I leave it on Vagrant or Epitaph, still none. Anybody else not getting skill songs.

I’m level 368 and I have all skill pages completed. This bug is going to keep me from completing all the achievements since I have 0/5 Skill songs.

I am in the same boat. Everything completed in the game, level 181 and ZERO skill songs have played.
I had the same issue, I stopped switching stations, 5 minutes later skill song played.
I keep the radio off. But when I turn it on to do skills a skill song always comes up as soon as the current song ends (on Timeless). I figure it is because the radio is always off.
I have over 8 days and 18 hours of game-play in and still have not been given the opportunity to participate in a skill song. I would have liked to do the achievement "“This Is My Jam”, but I guess I won’t be given the chance.
I have 14 days and 9 hours of gameplay in and I still have not been given the chance to participate in a skill song. I wish that Turn10 would fix this. There seem to be a lot of glitches since Blizzard Mountain released and even just in general some people aren’t allowed to get certain achievements or do certain in-game challenges and races.
