This might sound a bit dim, but I just tried to stream myself playing, on Mixer, so a friend could watch, and it definitely knew I was online because there was a page for my channel on Mixer, and it showed me as offline when I stopped broadcasting.
However, it never showed any game footage, just some sort of CG thing with a cat on it. I’m using an Xbox, and started broadcasting by following the instructions here:
I have my mixer and xbox accounts linked okay as I’m getting influence for watching streams.
Having got it streaming, I didn’t notice my influence going up any faster. I was watching it on another screen, and a friend was also watching it. Has anyone found anything specific needed to get the faster increase in influence compared to just watching a stream?
Also, the video quality was very poor. My upstream isn’t all that fast, at 6Mbps, but I’d have thought that should be enough for reasonable quality?
I dunno. Once I hit Mixer level 3 in Horizon Life by streaming progress slowed to a crawl. In 3 hours I got a couple hundred Influence out of the 15000+ needed for next level.
Hmm, it sounds like you had the same problem. When I was only watching my own stream, my influence seemed like it might not be going up at all. It was only when I resumed watching someone else’s stream that it went back to giving me 500 points every 5 minutes.
I start a mixer stream every time i play FH4, then watch that stream on my laptop. I think i’ve made it up to mixer level 17 or 18 in game now.
I have no idea if i get more influence for streaming and watching over just watching though, as i’ve never bothered watching other mixer streams of FH4…
Sometimes the influence doesn’t build every few minutes, but i get chunks of it (10-15k) when i start the game and leave one of the houses.
