With the addition of “Endurance” Lobbies and an update to the current Hopper Scheduling, how many players are you currently seeing in multiplayer lobbies?
0-5 Players
5-10 Players
10-15 Players
15+ Players
0voters
With the player count already dwindling, my experience with multiplayer pre Update 9 was that it would take multiple lobbies to find something with more than 10 people with less than 10 minutes before the race. If I were to join with 10+ minutes before the race, it would sometimes fill up to 15 or more. I forsee an issue that now that more lobby types are being introduced, the current player base is going to be spread far too thin, causing very poor player count within the races themselves. I have yet to play post Update 9, but I fear the player count between lobbies is going to drop quickly, and the “competive” nature of having 10 or more people in a lobby drops with it. A way to at least minimize this, is that Forza develop a server browser, but we all know after 8 iterations of the game, that is not likely to happen.
What event do you normally race and what time? I ask because player count in lobbies is going to vary a lot depending on what you are racing and at what time. I only really race in forza gt and the lobbies are normally always full, or close to it, when I’m playing between 7-10pm gmt. Havent played today yet but this didn’t seem to be any different last night after the update.
As for update 8.0: sometime I end up in a full lobby, sometime with 5-6 othter players. I can’t tell if there is a better event with more players base: even in GT3 lobbies, who are the most competitive, you can get the empty’s one.
I used to race everything from GT/TCR to Spec to Open, etc. Anything that peaked my interest at that moment. No matter the hopper, it would take me multiple lobbies just to find a 10 player or more sized one. 4950+ Skill and S-A Rating if it has made any difference since the last update. I havent played since Update 9, but heard of the changes, and immediately thought that player count within lobbies would be even less due to it.
As far as I can remember in the past few months of playing, I have gotten put into a lobby of less than 5 players many more times than I have in a lobby of 15+.
I’ve had multiple occasions too where I’ll finish a race and automatically join the next one only to have it mostly empty, but if I quit and immediately rejoin it puts me in a much fuller lobby.
I’m wondering if that has been caused sometimes by my Skill/Safety rating changing between races and the auto-continue didn’t pick it up, but it would have to be a pretty significant change to really affect matchmaking (which in reality would only because I got slammed with unwarranted penalties from being used as a pinball, and got dropped from S to A or B)
Depends on what I would be joining. If I completed a race, and immediately went to another lobby from the race finish, I would be put in a lobby of maybe 5-10 or less with the normal 7 or so minutes to go before race start; 2 minutes before lobby close. When this would occur, I would leave and try to join a much more full lobby before lobby closure.
If I would join a lobby with more than 10 minutes to go before lobby close, I would commonly reach player counts of 10+, and sometimes 20+, but thats nearly sitting in a lobby since its opening.
