How do you navigate in FH5

First time played this and I drove the cars that come out of the plane at the beginning.
Got my Avatar person and was then given one of three cars to drive.
I chose the Bronco.

The screen went to a map that asked me to create my route.
I moved the cursor around to a different part of the map and clicked on A and a route popped up

But that was it,no other button on my wheel or pressing any pedals was able to go further out of the map to either drive or go back to a menu where I can choose the type of race I want.

How do you navigate in FH5

Does pressing Esc on the keyboard back you out of the map? If it does, then you probably need to manually map it to a button on your wheel.

I map the back button and map button to the same button.

Some additional tips since you’re new. Use map filter to only display what you’re interested in. Otherwise the map will overwhelm you.

Don’t rush to unlock fast travel. Appreciate driving from point to point. You will eventually unlock fast travel and use it religiously.

I am running this on Xbox X so I don’t have a keyboard, just the G920 wheel.
I didn’t know the back button wasn’t mapped…“interesting”…

It’s not the normal map. The map there pops up and wants u to set marker at new event. Pops up multiple times doing story and unlocking expeditions and so on.
It scrolls to the new event simply click there and map closes

You can open normal map with the 2rectangle button (default mappings) or via menu

But I don’t see any events on the map.
Nothing on the map says a town, city, event.

If I zoom in a bit, It seems that I can see some landmarks (I think). but if I set a route to that that is it. Still nothing other then A to move on in the game.

All I can do is click A to set a route,click A again and the route disappears, and so on.

Is it not showing the ShowcaseEvent with the plane??
