In theory: wait in freeroam until someone launches one, or launch one yourself.
In practice: you don’t. The vast majority of people online drive S2 all day, every day, exclusively. Worst part is, most of them can’t keep these spaceships on the road to save their lives.
I’m starting to think that the vast majority of video game developers are terribly naive when it comes to the online gaming world.
I wonder if these achievements and challenges will be available again after this. Because at this rate, I’m going to complete none of this week’s challenges, and I am so not looking forward to trying to get the XBox Falcon next week.
No, it’s not being able to find a lobby that’s running the level my car is currently tuned at to qualify. I just spent an hour trying to find an A-class lobby for the Escort I currently have. Gave up, retuned it for S1…and ended up in a A-class lobby.
The games lobbies don’t require tuned cars. Just upgrade the car and rack up them skills. That’s what I did. I didn’t even bother playing the game type.
I’m still trying to figure that out too… I went to do some of the Forzathon’s and it’s throwing me into anything but. I have some b/c class cars that were D… but it’s forcing A,S games… I thought they said e’d have more freedom of choice online… but when Ya just want to waste an evening playing Infected, Ya can’t. And the thought of trying to do a free roam with people in cars they can’t control is no fun… It’s one thing to bounce off a barrier in the first corner or after making a miscalculation in distance, but to do three laps with 12 people trigger down and bouncing off barriers to make turns is annoying…
Anyone up for some infected in H1??
He is trying to find races for the lower classes. Yes, he could add more upgrades and make his cars A class or higher but that is not what he wants. He wants to race in D, C, or B. I share his opinion that it’s hard to find races for those classes. A lot of cars really really shine in these classes but are a total mess when you push them into higher tiers.
Basically if you want to race those classes you are going to have to go to forza 6 for that because the player base only wants to race in grounded rockets.
if you read the rest of thread he was wanting D class cars so he participate in the Forzathon…you only needed a car that was D class as stock, upgrading is allowed…which is what I was referring to
but i too share the opinion that you should be able to use whatever classses online as what you want..
Horizon 1 years ago had custom public lobbies that you could find like-minded players.
Motorsport has the hoppers, you can choose a car class when you go online.
Horizon 2 and 3 deleted this feature. You’re not allowed to choose what you want to play, you’re not allowed to matchmake with like-minded players, and you’re not allowed to use cars slower than S1/S2. Because that’s what people vote for.
We already had the solution to this problem years ago, decades ago. It’s called lobbies. But they deleted this.
The Horizon games are excellent, but this situation is not acceptable.
It is games only flaw but it is a MAJOR flaw. A flaw many complained about in H2 that they decided to ignore. It is really frustrating because all of the content is there but with the ridiculous online vote mechanic they won’t let you get to it. If I could only race B, C, and D I would be happy. If S1 and S2 were deleted from the game I wouldn’t be effected. At least with blueprints the offline options are better than ever but I would love to race online against actual humans since unbeatable drivatars are anything but and absolutely no challenge.
I didn’t have an Xbox One so I didn’t play much Horizon 2 (I did get my friend a copy and play some there), and no online at all. So my last real experience with Horizon online was the first one, and yeah. After sussing out all the online features in FH3, this is a huge step backwards in these areas. It’s just frustrating to the point of being pointless if you want to do some lower class racing. All of these cars are basically worthless online without those lobbies and matchmaking and hoppers for putting like minded folks together like you said. And freeroam is nearly impossible to get a real event going of any sort, everyone just wants to drag race.
Online isn’t all bad, coop is a fantastic addition, but I’d love some class based hoppers or lobbies and matchmaking here for competitive online with more than just 1-3 friends. Unfortunately, these sort of basic yet major features are rarely added into a game like this after the fact. So lower class racing is always going to get the shaft online. The absence of Cat & Mouse is also disappointing.
Your A Class '71 GTR, kicks some serious butt, SatNite!
It be nice to not have to play over 25 online games to get the flag forzathon train horn. Am I missing something or is it completely random on getting the playground games. And then after that you only get one flag game?
If you choose Custom Adventure you can then specify Racing or Games only. Then when you vote after a championship for the next series there will be 4 icons on each logo showing each event type. Most I’ve seen of King, Infected, or Flag Rush in a series is 2.
Not being able to pick a game with lower class vehicules whenever you want to (with lobbies), royally sucks.
That’s what keep me out of multiplayer. C, D and B classes deserve better.
