Hi all,
So i wanted to turn some profit on the porsche 911 3.3.
I bought one for £400k on the auction house and then after the value of them started to rise.
I tried to upload it to the auction house. But the max buyout I could set was £592k.
Which is weird as I saw other people selling them with a buyout of 5.5 million. Does anyone know how they can set higher buyout prices than me.
Do I have to complete campaign, have an achievement or be a certain level?

Thanks
Jack

That question has been asked a thousand times…You need a higher painter or tuner level. For the max buyout you must be a 5Star

That’s because the logic behind it is ridiculous.

So i guess i have to get my paint jobs and tunes to be downloaded a few thousand times?

It’s a little more than ‘a few thousand times’. Legend status for a painter is 50,000 combined downloads, likes and uses of your shared paints. I don’t tune … but am pretty sure tuners level the same as painters.

I remember when I missed out on a Subaru Impreza Rally car from one of the Forzathons and when I went to the Auction House to try and buy one, there was about five of these Impreza WRC’s with prices up in the millions (it was painful having to dish out 2 million credits on a rally car with only 800 PI) After I won the Impreza in a newer Forzathon I decided to sell the old car from the Auction, max buyout: 166k credits! wth, so clearly the sellers were ‘legend’ rank.

Exactly. There should be a bonus but the descrepancy is disgusting.

Essentially, the people ruining the entire scheme are the ones that copy-paste the same layer groups to every car in the game. Tuning is much different, and I don’t know how I’d workaround status jumps like people do with one design for every car (because tuning is a whole different ballgame).

Plus, yes the jump from elite to legend is 40,000 but come on, max buyout from around 600k straight to 20m…

I just checked back on the Impreza rally car, it did not sell.

More accurately the logic behind giving such an extreme bonus is ridiculous. I can copy paste vinyls like a champ if I wanted to but that shouldn’t get you a 20x Max buyout over a non legend painter.

It’s the same with the tuners, but people always blame the painters. Ok, there might be more of them, but when you buy a car, you see what you get. If you buy a car of a tuner, you don’t. Bad joke, when it’s only a build with some tire pressure adjustments…
And yes, the discrepancy of max buyout is ridiculous. The devs should change that.

legend painters

Money comes easy enough in this game, I don’t really care that some people who happen to be better at tuning and painting (and ALSO KNOW HOW TO MARKET THEMSELVES) better, are making more money in the Auction House than I am.

I am at Elite status for Paint, Amateur for Tune.

Do you know how hard it is to design even a logo, let alone an entire themed car, for it to look great and line up? How about getting a tune dialed in to the nuts?

I like the extra reward. Paints take a lot of time. As does tuning.

Don’t get mad. Get better.

If the cars that had these ridiculous buyouts actually had a legendary paint on it, I’d agree with you. But it’s a low effort matte black paint a lot of the time. Not to mention a large amount of the people who do this got their legendary status by putting up many low effort paints because they know the “storefront” favours the newest paints.

PAINT CAR ZINC.

ADD BLACK VINYL.

Cat’s out the bag.

I agree with the lazy sentiments. I have been guilty of it though. I can’t stand keeping HE cars, so admittedly, I’ve slapped the color absorbing black on it with a cartoon logo. It sells. It’s dumb but it works.

The storefront favoring newer paints and such…they need to make it filterable like when we online shop. By Date, Popularity, Rating, etc.

They’ve needed to since Forza Motorsport 5 but we’re stuck with the current system for now.

It won’t change in this game (nor will the whole Legendary Auction Price thing) so all we can do is put up with it, and direct any frustrations or suggestions to forzafb@microsoft.com

Forza Motorsport 5 came out back in 2013… yet everyone wonders why we have not seen any changes to these things in almost four years.

I know the previous post was over a year ago but after having the same experience in Forza Horizon 4 and this thread is the top google search I just wanted to add something. The elusive car right now is the Ford Crown Victoria patrol car. I got some credits I wanted to spend so sure enough, there’s one at auction to buy for 20million. I bought it, had fun with it and thought I’d sell it again. The highest value I can sell at is 154,000. I knew it would be a lot less but I’m not giving it away. Now I need to get to 50,000 downloads on my paint jobs before I can get my money back on it. I’m at about 8000 at the moment so it’s possible but this system is unfair. I’ve done over 200 unique paint jobs but I would like my dedication to be rewarded in some way other than to rely on people actually choosing my work for their car.
Also, the car I bought was a quick paint job, just a plain colour, no design to it so perhaps it should only be worth 20,000,000 when it’s obvious some time has gone into it, like recognising the number of layers used. If/when I get to the level I can charge that amount I will at least give someone value for money and not a cheap cash grab. Besides, doesn’t it stand to reason if your level of painter is high enough you’ve got credits coming in every day from your work without having to charge this exclusive maximum? Those people must own every car in the game and just be accumulating credit now but for what? Ok, my comment turned into a bit of a rant there but hopefully you get my point. In future Forza’s, let’s ditch this 20mil auction price and reward painters some other way. Oh and if anyone wants to visit my store and get a couple of my marvellous paint jobs, please feel free. It would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!

I am just posting this to see what I am lol, also anybody know a good paint that will easily get me a good tuner/paint rank??
