How can some players avoid pitting in MP unaffected?

There was a player in my MP race that set a qualifying lap 4s faster then everyone else. Then they went on to win an 8 lap race where everyone sensible pitted after the 4th lap. Those that didn’t pit such as myself were struggling on the final 3 laps, yet this one person continued as if they had a fresh pit of tyres. What am I missing???

You can just ignore the pit. Its optional.

To clarify, how were they able to drive consistent lap times as if unaffected by tyre wear? Meanwhile everyone else had to pit or were doing vastly slower lap times in final 3 laps.

I guess what I’m asking is whether there’s ways to cheat in MP because something just didn’t stack up there.

I’m not that bad lol…

I have no clue dude. Maybe he was using ebrake in turns when his tires turned off

Interesting is that actually a thing?

Try it

Omg you’re right it does work! I just tried e brake and collided into the main group taking them all out while somehow managing to stay on track which lead me to take the W! Thanks bud!

What that tells me is that he knows how to drive. It can be very tricky to do, but it requires alot of patience. Especially for FWD. Me and my one buddy are very similar pace to each other. But where I can Usually no stop most races, he struggles to even keep 2 sets alive. And it’s really simple. You just gotta calm down! haha

When you’re going through a long turn for instance, let’s say the spoon at Suzuka, you have to pay attention to where your edge of grip it. Your instincts will tell you to either start turning harder, or giving more power to pull it though. That’s how you eat up tires. And the more you do that, the hotter and more worn they get. It’s a slippery slop.
It’s very obvious one FWD cars to spot out. Generally, if you have a huge difference in in wear on the front to the back, but because you’re over driving them.
I hope That explains it haha

Also yes. That can help a ton if done correctly.
I’ve don’t it in other games and adjusted my deadlines for my e break so when I clicked It, it would not be like 20-25 power.high speed turns can take a lot of practice to do it consistently. But sharp turns it’s a dream.
I believe it was the McLaren MP4/12 f1 far that did that. They put a 3rd brake pedal in the cockpit. It worked so week every team completed enough to get it banned! They only got caught because the rear disks were going in the turns!

What track, car, weather, what tires did that driver used? We missing few info here.

Are you asking about me and my friend?

Could it be that they qualified on softs and then swapped to hards for the race?

I did the above on Homestead for one of the touring car races and managed a win from pole with no stops. As long as you don’t take too much out of the tyres early on and employ some lift and coast in the latter half of the race, they will just about hang on for eight laps.

Getting pole helps to avoid the melee at the start, which also preserves tyre life.
