I was playing FM6 yesterday and I used a mod that would rank me up quicker. I started asking myself how can I level up faster without using mods. Does anyone know?
I think that only affects credits, not XP. Career races and showcases seem to offer a slightly higher amount of XP for said number of laps on a specific track layout compared to that same track layout/lap count in Free Play or Rivals.
Run endurance races. You save real time by not having multiple menu selections and starts. If you can put in the time do max amount of laps per race and at the end you get lots of everything.
To add to that use the Driver XP Mods whenever you can but save the 100% XP bonus mods for the enduros. With one of those 100% XP mods I jumped 13 levels after the Audi/Sebring Endurance Showcase.
Good advice. I once did a 30 lap Free Play race at Nurburgring Full and gained 35 levels, thanks to three 100% XP boost mods. It took me about four hours in my Indycar. I normally do the Indy 250 Endurance Showcase, which takes about 65-66 minutes and awards 13 levels after three 100% XP boost mods are applied, so it is a bit more efficient than the Free Play 30 lap Nurburgring race in terms of levels per hour.
So far as I can see both driver XP and manufacturer affinity are based on mileage driven. Therefore circuits where you can cover big mileage in a relatively short time are most effective at levelling up. I use Road America full circuit, Le Mans old Mulsanne circuit and the Daytona oval. In free play the maximum number of laps you can do is fifty. Thus fifty laps at Daytona doesn’t take so long but you level up less per rAce due to a shorter distance travelled. I find the Le Mans track the best for mileage munching. You should be able to get around twelve or thirteen driver XP levels for one fifty lap race here or up to twenty five if you acquire 100% XP boost mod cards (using three of these gets you a million XP points which equates to twenty-five driver levels)
