I’m new to the series. Purchased the Xbox One with Forza 6 bundle. I’m digging the game but I don’t know much about this franchise. What’s the best way to level up in this game? I haven’t even tried online yet because I’m sure it will not go well. If anyone has any advice, I’d appreciate it. Thanks for your time!
Rivals mode for me is the quickest way to level up plus its really entertaining trying to find that extra tenth of a second to beat the player’s ghost you’re racing. Not only that but it will help you learn the tracks better so that when you do go online you’re in a much better position to compete!
Depends on why you like these games though - but it is one of the great things about the franchise that you can choose how you play the game (in most instances).
Rivals with assists off will probably be the quickest way to level up, though level doesn’t really mean much. There’s no benefit to being a higher level.
Rivals - for lots of laps
Free Play races - that are lots of laps ( you set it up)
Endurance Showcase -Almost all are 1 hour plus with some being 2 hours 45 minutes or so (Sebring for instance)
Private races with friend in MP for lots of laps/ time - I use to do 1 hour to 2 hour races on line
3 lap race - then menu - loading - setup - the 3 laps takes time .
So its really about maximizing driving time versus non driving time and there are quite a few ways to do that.
I am not sure what the XP cap is in the game - in FM5 it was 50k so if you are trying to level up - then its wise to figure out if there is a cap to not exceed that amount by tons of laps. (use to be 8 laps of LeMans got you to the cap - if that is the case then doing 16 laps of LeMans didn’t help you as much as doing 2 races/ rivals/ free plays of 8 laps each.
The cap is not that low and I don;t know if there is one ( haven’t delved into it in FM6 yet to figure it out. But seen replays of the INDY 100 lap showcase event and that yielded 130XP with out any mod boosts and I earned 540k XP at the LeMans Endurance show case so if there is a cap I haven;t figured it out and it is possible that each mode is done differently - but as a whole maximizing drive time versus menu time is how you level up quicker.
Boost Mods help as well there are 100% / 60%/ 30% XP boosts as well as set figures of 7500 XP etc…
Credits - try to have least amount of assists - and Mods that impact amount of credits. ( Crew Chief Mods are usable forever when you max out affinity and earn you 50% bonus on credits… Dare mods run from 30% credit bonus to 15% and Manual with clutch is +20% for instance so teamed up with Boost mods or Crew Chief Mod plus the Drivatar difficulty/ and your assist you have off - you can earn credits fairly fast especially on longer races that you set up manually ( Free Play, private MP) or endurance showcases.
Hope that helps - sorry I don;t know the details about caps yet - I just haven;t started the testing as the game is still new and I’m not going for max affinity on a bunch of cars yet. Or grinding for cars I want (though for me practice and driving is rarely grinding)
Actually, since your a new comer… here is my suggestion to level up, learn the tracks and how to handle the car… Leaderbaords.
FM^ gives you credits for just running solo hot laps in the leaderboards section… same section as rivals. However in LB start in “D” class… on the easy tracks like oval, and small circuits (lime rock, Brands Hatch Indy, etc.) with just a 4-6 turns. You can also use MODs as mentioned above. don’t stop until you can make clean fast laps, should take you at least 30-50 laps on small tracks maybe more… this will not only give you good credits, but you’ll be learning and enjoing the challenge.
As others mentioned, racing in Career mode is fun, slow and time consuming. However, that’s how the game is designed. Some have mentioned turn off all assist… if your new, this will be very difficult even harder with a controller… I think you should run the race line, ABS brakes and TCS/STM with cosmetic damage. Thi will not hurt much if you do 30-50 laps.,
Just my thoughts…! Just enjoy the game and level up will come at the right pace.

Indianapolis 250 showcase. 3x 100 % mods make it pay 480.000 XP every one hour and six minutes. Sebring is not worth the effort, it takes three hours to get 1 million XP. So you make 1.4 million on Indy 250 in the same time you get 1 million on Sebring.
I did it with 3 60 % mods and got nine levels each time (plus 21 for affinity)
I love Endurance races, loved ~250 laps in FM3, felt like I could do this all my life lol. Yesterday I did 8 laps on that track…had to take a few breaks, but somehow I beat it and decided not to do any Endurance races in a while. The music was completely destroying it (really, T10? Not even a play list? Single 2m tune?).
Finishing 50 laps on Nürburgring should give you as the reward, regardless the mods: all the cars for free, all upgrades for free, max. level possible, billions of CR+TK, VIP crown, all the DLCS for free. Can you even survive that race? That guy is a machine.
