So far so good.
1/ The tracks are not slippery like the half pipe tracks, so that’s great!
2/ The bends, and cornering is great!
3/ The magnetic sections work great!
Really… this could be the first time PG got everything right!

I liked it until the 3rd rookie race when the rigged AI kicked in. It has been over 5 years since FH3 HW, where I first experienced the rogue Drivatar, little did I know 5 years later it still would make a mess of things.
The only thing different in FH5 is there are usually 2 cheating AI when this problem shows up. I played the 3rd “rookie” race 3 times, and it’s exactly the same each time: have a look at the map at 90%, a huge, joke of a gap between me in P3 and the rest of the field, with another joke of gap from me to P2. This EXACT thing happens every time the algorithm decides it’s time to cheat. It’s consistent, across FH3, FH4, FH5, type of race, class of car, etc. It’s still here for FH5 HW.
This expansion looks like it will be great and I’m sure there have been a ton of resources put into creating it. The good news is the problem doesn’t come up a majority of the time in FH3/4/5, likely this will be true in FH5 HW. Unfortunately, the garbage algorithm/A.I. has gone unacknowledged for 5+ years and continues to undermine the experience.
My first impression is a lot less positive.
All style, little to no substance.
I mean no races without hazards in B class? Really? Maybe more unlock later but knowing PGG I’d bet against it.
Just unlocked A and there is one road race. This is a joke.
Also the tracks seem to cater to the people who put all power and no control into their builds and just wall ride. I’ve yet to see any section that would punish a terrible driver.
Co-op is broken to the point where you have to hard reset the xbox
For me being able to explore so far off the track pieces alone, makes this one better than FH3’s version. Biomes are EPIC!
Pretty good so far, I’m not one for spectacle but since that appears to be the main objective of the majority of it I think it’s done a great job in that respect.
Plus the bug I had kick in a few weeks ago that completely muted all dialogue is still there which helped hugely in the story.
Surprised to see a post about having some issues with the AI though, I’ve bumped it up to Highly Skilled for the medals (yes I really do always race Tourist outside of seasonals) and they’ve been rubbish, way behind in every race up to now since the suggested line has more braking suggestions that you should ignore than in the main map.
Like I say very good up to now but well I would say that, I said it about the main game and about FH4, it’s weeks + months from now that will give me the proper answer for what I think, burning through the initial surface content is an amazing experience in every FH game for me, it’s when longevity + replayability become factors that really put them to the test.
The main negative bit of feedback from me right now is I don’t like how easy it is to wall ride.
Obviously you shouldn’t wall ride to begin with but just saying…
Yeah, 3rd race was tougher for sure (GreetedDust to the rescue!) but I’m really enjoying it. It looks absolutely stunning and the ai can actually drive the tracks. Genuinely cool and different.
Looks good to me so far. Only the one race so far though as I didn’t start the download until quite late.
Complete trash to me:
I agree, but again you shouldn’t wall ride. It is bad though.
Yeah wall riding is really bad. I wish they penalised for colliding into walls or possibly better gave us a damage meter who hbif maxed out resulted in failing.
I love it! The map is much bigger than I expected. Racing is fun, the new cars are good too. I like all the new tracks and tricks the devs pulled with this one.
There’s just one thing I don’t like but I haven’t finished the campaign yet:
Is it me or is the Hot Wheels expansion rather short? I’ve been playing forma couple of hours now and I’m already at Expert. That’s very quick imo! In FH3 HW it took wayy longer to progress. Here you only need to do 4 races and a couple of collectibles and stunts. Luckily there are a bit more races in S1 but still not as many as in FH3.
I like it.
The map is well done with nice tracks.
ForceFeedback is enjoyable.
Had no problems with the AI so far.
Its fun to play.
My Impression is,… we got some cool cars.
Played few Custom S2 race
All PVP is 100% in ghosting from start to finish.
The amount of challenge / things to lookout in 1 race are very in infrequent.
Most of the time all I can do is just holding accel.
Most of the corner can be flat out.
In FH3 HW I still have to do lots of control and braking in a track.
I still need to worry about not hitting the wall.
Because 1. it is XP race and 2. I may ride on the wall and fall.
Even Hotwheels unleashed is more challenging than FH5 HW.
I need to avoid obstacle.
Aimming boost rechange pad.
I need to count boost and keep them on loop and some location. In FH5 I have nothing to do on loop. Just holding accel
I’ve just unlocked the ‘discover all roads’ thingy, but only have 174/175. Can’t find the missing road on the map,but its probably a tiny section at the end of a road somewhere that i’ve missed,as always seems to happen
First impression…im too old for this
My first impression is that it is a well done DLC.
The progression system is fine, except that it also affects free-roam.
All DLC cars are locked, but will be unlocked and added to the autoshow as the game progresses.
This is a very important improvement and I am very happy to see the return of this system since FM2.
No need to reload the AH a million times for a second Deora 2 and pay scalpers 20 million cr!
The map is well done. Each biome is unique and seems to make up for the lack of character in the main map.
The grip on the plastic tracks has been improved since FH3, and is only slightly weaker than tarmac.
It remains somewhat slippery, but not as bad as it was in FH3. It can be driven without stress.
I initially had a negative impression of this expansion. But now that I’ve actually played it, this is a very enjoyable expansion. PGG, you guys did a great job!
Agreed. Sometimes my left thumb barely moves after completing an entire race. It’s more like stabilizing the car opposed to driving it.
