Ah, so this becomes a Dark Souls argument…Unless there is an official reason to complete it, then no it is not necessary. Remember, games are supposed to be fun, not frustrating.
I like completing Goliath on Unbeatable. I do it in every Forza. Plus it builds up your money, and level.
Money and level are arbitrary. I have a ton of $$ and have unlocked everything, own every car that has been released. Once you get passed a certain level, it’s irrelevant.
No 999M is another target! I suppose you are not setting yourself targets. If you don’t set targets in the game it would be boring.
What’s the point of 999m? Bragging rights?
It definitely scratched my itch and felt like I was driving my childhood. I like the new cars and I had to race hard to win on unbeatable. Very faily priced given there is replayability albeit not too much.
I think 8/10 is fair and agree Forest Falls is the nicest map I’ve seen in FH. Just chilling in drone mode feels special. Well done PGG.
Have you met Shane Van Boening? Met him once at a tournament in Phoenix.
Efren Reyes, to me, will always be the top “world” pool player but I think he’s retired now. Shane is the top WPA player currently.
People have been asking for the Infected, Flag Rush, Eliminator, etc to be added. The problem is Hot Wheels really isnt a truly open world to go wherever. If you get on a track, you are very limited where you can go, and if you are slightly far enough ahead other cars can’t catch you. So, I’m hoping, unless they create a new playground area, they don’t add these in.
Ok, beat Goliath 2x on unbeatable. Once with the C7 Corvette ZR-1 and once with the Dodge Viper ACR (newest one). Didn’t exactly take that long…even with the random Moris Minor doing 270 mph… ![]()
Were you entertained while doing it?
Meh, I guess watching X-bows, BAC monos and a moris minor going that fast gave me a chuckle…but only a passing moment.
I’m not sure if everyone else is still enjoying online racing in HW but I am. I like how it’s radically different to online racing in Mexico. I could see myself continuing to play and enjoy this casually each week if PGG improve upon the following areas:
-
Match making - It’s really fun racing neck on neck against at least one other. It’s far less entertaining when racing by yourself.
-
Wall riding - This is wildly inconsistent in online racing. I’ve seen and experienced players smashing into 90 degree corners at over 200 mph and not get penalised. Aswell as the opposite, players nudging sides at 200 mph and being penalized. This behavior should be more consistent and favor penalizing.
-
Ghosting - I see the benefits of ghosting off and can sort of understand why this decision was made. But obviously it wasn’t an easy decision and so far this poll proves that. Players would like to choose whether to race against other ghosted or non ghosted players.
-
Mods - Online Racing is fun but will no doubt get old. It would be fun IMO to have a new separate category of online racing where there are obstacles or buffs/debuffs on the track. In the past PGG has added to the play list event labs where if you hit a green catus you speed up or a red catus you slow down. There have also been event labs where you need to dodge obstacles otherwise you slow down when smashing through them. If you created a new category of online racing with the same format but had these Event Lab type obstacles then I think that would be a big hit for many players.
You bounce that ball, Principal Skinner. I prefer it when the game sets goals, and then I prefer those goals to be reasonably obtainable. Too much tedium and/or frustration and I’ll probably skip it.
You just described a different game with the 4th bullet point. Blur was much like Mario Kart with the powerups and such, but placed in a more realistic setting.

It’s not good for you though. People do better in old age by setting themselves goals.
I’m surprised they don’t do this. They have all the tools to do it and it would be a great way to extend the life of this expansion and encourage some players to play more.
Nevermind.
After they dumbed down the “unbeatable” in Horizon Tour weekly events? Never happen. People complained about them being too difficult, so now they drive stock vehicles.
People complaining that something is too easy or hard isn’t the issue as you would probably agree. The issue is when PGG scales up or down the difficulty based on user complaints. This is just an inaquate and lazy way of problem solving.
