Can you answer me which class do you have in mind? Cause I can hardly remember when that happened to me and I’m wondering if that is a more common thing in S1 or s2 (which I avoid).
Don’t get me wrong. I understand your point and overall I agree that they need to find some better solutions.
It happes more in the higher class ofcourse but i would say that 90% ot the times i got a wallcrash penalty i got it bec someone rammed me in the wall.
And i could add that in general, i don’t mind rammers since most of the times they wipe them self out most of the times and i would guess most of them are just kids that don’t know any better. But i don’t like that i get punished for someone ramming me
This doesn’t happen to me. If i crash on the wall because of ramming most of the times i won’t get slowed down. It could be bigger problem for wheel users but from my experience the game is usually fair on that.
Convoy idk way to complicated to get more than 1 other person in from free roam… or it’s broken. After closing the game i can see lots of invites in xbox menu but then it’s too late. And i rly try to convoy with others if they ask via forza link…
Normally i do the weekly championships in coop mode. It’s faster doing all 3 races in one step without searching icons on map and is more “fun” than driving solo in front of the drivatars. But yeah… Everyone is fighting like hell to become #1. Wallriding, Divebombing u can see everything if it is not covered by smoke. Some stuff is caused by games prediction system so i can deal with some hits but all the other… Hotwheels is the worst and has some bug making the car steer full right/left sometimes wich makes it even more annoying there…
Trial maybe the worst (on normal map) with people fighting against every other car… They have no idea how to deal with the AI so they ram and bomb whole time ignoring the teampart… And there is no slowdown then…
Tour wich feels like old teamadventure is just bad by design and ends after 1 (3 race) event…
Open u have same old stuff people kick u offroad and make u miss checkpoints…
Custom same and more meta cars…
Some people have broken controllers without chance to brake or idk… maybe most of the cars in online don’t come with brakes…
They changed the whole online in FH5 to make it a “Happy Place” for everyone but yeah it just su… In the end to have fun in online u sit on #1 far away or on last position far away but this makes multiplayer useless and u can play solo…
You can have more fun in FH4 these days lots of new people (low prestige) and u see “clean racing” most of the time. Ranked, Team, Coop is rly fun now with all the rammers playing in FH5
Only the bug su… waiting upto 30minutes between races is insane…
I played some reasonable online racing the past week and i haven’t seen this many rammers ever in Horizon 5. I was getting slammed almost every other race or championship. Normally i am one that can tolerate this to some extend. And i know going into it i should anticipate it and i try not to make it steer me away from playing again. Yet it was so bad. I was listening to spotify so my gpu software wouldnt allow capturing footage so on few occasions i didnt record anything, other times i just couldn’t be bothered or thought it was pointless.
I have a clip of a speed hacker and 2 rammers and i havent reported them yet. But there was so much more that happened. Horizon is a big name now. If online is such an integral part of the game they need a solid reporting system. They also need to deal with game modders that sell wheelspins or festival playlist vehicles. Just as a whole the way they deal with all forms of cheating in a fair way of course.
If anyone is out there endorcing this, including content creators because ive seen them promote their service you have no right to ever, EVER complain about cheaters in this game! And i have no respect towards you
All this is what makes me happy that FM is available next week! I love the community/festival atmosphere of FH and that’s why I play it. But, like others wrote, if they are going to include an online racing component to the game, then make it racing. They can have a sperate online racing for those who don’t drive well but still want to do some pseudo racing.
As far as the game goes, it necessarily has to keep track of what initiated any change in the current course a car is following… a turn of the wheel… too much breaking… or… some idiot who decides to swerve his car into yours to put your car into the wall. So… when it’s a car whose path deviates significantly away from the apex and that car impacts another car, the car impacted does not get a slow down. Better would be to use the same type of ghosting logic they use for high-speed impacts for erratic, off apex, changes of direction in corners.
Maybe they can add a new online race type… no-contact. Contact results in penalties… they do it in F1 racing right?
There was a “collision: off” in previous game they removed it with most of the other racing stuff.
Bringing the mode back can’t save the game (maybe for private lobbies but with these people u can have collision on)
It’s useless… was hopping into some online and finished 4th in 2 events final board showed me as winner with most championship points. It always adds new people if someone leaves or lobby has empty slots.
The Meta vehicles (Particularly Boneshaker) have no place in online racing.
There are several banned cars in Rivals and Open, but somehow this OP DLC car gets to stay. Countless times I’ve gotten my line down after a few tries at a Rivals event and I narrow down my competition, only to watch the ghost of a meta car (In Dirt races it’s typically the Semi truck or Boneshaker).
Take a look at the Rivals Top 1% for any A Class leaderboard on most tracks. The trend doesn’t lie.
You’re not wrong at all, and some cars are just flat out better than others.
As a start, the Boneshaker should not be allowed in online play beyond Hot Wheels
I raced online multiplayer yesterday in Open racing so random event types and PI levels. The same player won almost every race as they must have been using some sort of speed hack plus they were to drive through or over walls. One race I started in 1st position and the cheating player started in last. Within a few seconds they passed me like I was going backwards. Strange thing was their car was flashing in and out of visibility. Almost like they go invisible when they press a key to apply super speed or drive through a barrier.
No worries as I won’t have to put up with cheating anymore in Horizon. Forza Motorsport is out today so I’ll be moving over to that and just doing the weekly playlist in Horizon.
Seems like there’s a new or updated “mod menu” out. The Horizon Tours were basically all horrible today with at least one cheater in nearly every single race it seemed.
It’s true but there is a wide margin between “attempting the impossible task of balancing this game” and “not even bothering to try”. I think most would prefer the former.
