So recently I’ve seen more and more threads pop up from various people asking why all of the DLC and the game itself was delisted from the Xbox Store. You can read about the specifics in the sticky in this section.
What I’m here to inquire about is a possible way of obtaining potentially all of the DLC ever released for the original Horizon. When Xbox One backwards compatibility was first announced, I did a bit of research and found out that for (most) 360 games, their DLC would also be compatible with Xbox One through backwards compatibility. There are, or were, licensing issues with the original Horizon. However if you managed to find somebody that has one or more of the original DLCs for 360, license transferred the DLC to you, then synced your account from the 360 to your Xbox One, shouldn’t the DLC transfer to the Xbox One? I’m not entirely sure if this is possible, seeing as how everything relative the game has been delisted. But the only way I could see this not working is if Xbox servers prevented the DLC from being transferred from a 360 by checking what all was being transferred for expired licenses (among other things). I don’t know hardly anyone that does 360 license transfers anymore, but there’s bound to be someone out there that has all or most of the Horizon DLCs. Whether or not it would go through is the deciding factor because we all want the Rally Expansion.
As of mid-February 2017, the Rally Expansion should again be available to previous Season Pass holders via the in-game Marketplace.
FYI: License transfers do not work in the way you’re describing/hoping for, as licenses cannot be transferred between Xbox Live accounts (only between separate consoles that are making use of the same account). The content itself, will still be attached to the license used to first obtain it.
Really unfortunate as I’d love to have the Rally Expansion. Don’t really care about the car packs or tokens but would have liked to do the 1000 Club Challenges.
Regrettably, Microsoft/Turn 10 never released a “complete” (meaning all previously-released DLC included) version of the first Forza Horizon game—while they did eventually ship a “Platinum Hits” version of the game, it did not differ in any meaningful way from the disc shipped when FH1 was originally released (which was a shame as, for Platinum Hits versions of the various Forza Motorsport games, those releases were also “Complete/Ultimate” versions that did include nearly all DLC that had eventually been made available for those respective titles).
So effectively: The only way to have ever obtained the Rally Expansion, the 1000 Club, and/or nearly any of the other DLC that didn’t originally ship with the physical game when first released (or with the Limited Collector’s Edition disc), would have been via digital download via the Xbox Live Store while that content was still available. This is the -only- way one could have obtained the license(s) for these expansion packs and DLC: One would have had to purchase them when they were previously available for independent sale, and/or via Season Pass access.
Unless/until such time as Microsoft again makes them available (an option one would think extremely unlikely at this point), there is simply no other way to gain access to them unless one is able to play it on an Xbox where someone else has already obtained the licenses for same.
I bought this expansion in April/May of last year but haven’t gotten around to playing this yet. Do you mean cars included in the Rally Expansion won’t unlock?
Hi I have a question, I recently bought Xbox One and I playing Forza Horizon 1 for the first time and I’d like to buy dlc’s from the game but I can’t, it says that it’s not possible and I don’t understand why.
Can anyone help me, I love Forza and I want to unlock all the dlc’s so please help me
The dlc is delisted unfortunately your too late. You can still get the rally pack online on amazon or gamestop. You can also get the Collectors edition online which can give you the day one dlc car pack, and vip car pack. That’s all that’s available i believe.
