Horizon 6 - Map Discussion

Tokyo City is also the series’ largest urban area to date

THIS!

This was originally made for FH5. Accuracy was already very suspect but beliavable nontheless. Now it’s just how much of the map is dedicated to that abominationa of a game mode, they call ‘aeliminaetoor’

I hope they incorporate the layout of Tokyo’s Metropolitan Expressway. C1 is a fantastic circuit, both inside and outside.

it’s best fan made map.
i remember this when relised FH5

It truly is one of the best fan made maps or leaked maps . I say leak cause here’s why :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: . This is a fun conversation to talk about

The only somewhat logical explanation in my head would be, that the dev’s saw this “fan made” map and also saw the community really wanting something like that. Now they have made their own (doable) version of the map to satisfy the community.

Or maybe its just because, if you think about Japan and car culture, Mt. Fuji and Tokyo are just the first things that come to mind.

Oh dear lord…

Awesome discussion everyone.

I love the Japan Setting AI against Rally Adventure.
I spent some time there last night doing the Seasonal and imagining
it as the backdrop to Japan.

For people that say they want tighter smaller roads with more detail - check out Rally Adventure.
It feels more like “track making on roads” as opposed to “road making against tracks”.

Also - after thinking about the FH5 map and seeing how it’s literally rotated so that west is east….

DO NOT DO THIS WITH THE FH6 map please. I know we’re shoehorning stuff into a pretend basemap but can this stuff basically follow the real cardinal directions as IRL. If you want immersion, if you want that feeling then you can’t have people stumbling onto the fact that Playa Azul is on the West coast of Mexico, not the East. The entire map is basically rotated.

So what we have in game is this:

Again, owing to the fact that ‘it’s a game bruh’ I get it. As I said up top, “creative liberties” will be had.
Just - can we be a little more accurate on positioning against the skybox and not just cram stuff all over the map regardless of it? Have some semblance of reality with the cardinal directions and placement of the elements against that?

Precedence: Ahh yes, they do actually pay attention to IRL orientation ..sometimes.
I present exhibit A:

IRL:

In Game:

Yup, thats right - Teotihuacan is oriented correctly against the FH5 skybox as it is IRL.

Anyone have any similar observations or recommendations on the map?

While I definitely see the possibility you could be right, I feel Fuji will be part of the map for 1 reason: it is currently the main marketing image for the game itself. I feel they wouldn’t market the reveal of the game on something that would just be a background asset, it’s possible but I think unlikely.

We’ll have to wait until the game releases, maybe I’m wrong and it is just a part of the background but this is why I think it probably won’t be.

They did marketed Forza Horizon 5’s volcano as “an active volcano” in the winter season but we never got it outside of a single story event and i believe it wasn’t even set during the winter season. So this teaser/not even a trailer confirms possibly nothing specific about the map. It’s just up to us to speculate at this point.

I also remember a specific portion of their gameplay revel of FH5 where Mike Brown and all the devs were presenting the game, there was a story beat or at least a chapter which wasn’t featured in the final game. So they’ll potentially add or remove content up until the last minute before release and nothing is 100 % guaranteed.

Was that the one that involved a Defender and the line “I’m racing a player through the jungle Rami, it doesn’t get any better than this”?

I don’t hide the fact that this is AI, I’m showing edited screenshots from the game on the rally adventure map, where PGG probably tested the terrain for the future map.

Hot Wheel tracks all over the Japan? Where in the world did they get the idea that this is popular enough to make the mainland? Outrageous and completely unrealistic. The motion sickness is very nauseating just thinking about it. Please do not add this. Add it as DLC, and for all those who do care, please don’t pollute the map with this stuff.

Cheers to realism.

Uhh Hot Wheels isn’t coming into Forza Horizon 6 Playground Games said that the Hot Wheels 2.0 DLC was the inspiration to help them figure out how Japan’s highway systems work since Japan has elevated highways which are more or less similar to the Hot Wheels 2.0 DLC I have Autism and even I understand what they meant by this
