Honda Civic Type R 2018 - inaccurate car model (1802974)

Not sure what the issue is that causes it. It’s just that:

Side skirt pin stripes should be red, but they’re white.

There’s even white inside the dront wheel wells.

All the black pieces like the front grille, bumper parts, eye lids, side window pillars, rear bumper…all look like they’re gray. If you zoom in, it has a cement texture. Other cars have this black issue.

The aero parts of the car like the front lip, side skirts, and rear lip are just black plastic in real life. It’s rough, with a fake weave design. Not smooth or clear coated. But in the game, it looks like actual carbon fiber and it is smooth and clear coated.

The orange side markers on the fenders are like a brownish orange in the game.

The rear red reflectors should be a brighter red, not a brownish red.

The back side of the front seats are not real carbon fiber either. Nor are they glossy. In the game they are though.

The interior trim pieces are not real carbon fiber either. It’s the same as the back seats. In FM, it looks like actual carbon fiber and it’s glossy. Making things carbon fiber anyways, is done on other cars as well in this game.

The engine cover is the same. Not real carbon fiber. Lol. But the game made it that way.

So i don’t know if it’s a grpahical issue, or a choice they made. But yes, FH5 does look better in most cases. They could have taken tips from that. Some of the issues i mentioned don’t even exist on the FM7 version of the FK8, which is also weird.

Yeah. GT7 did a WAY better job with the FK8. It is a revised version with very slight differences, but for the most part, every part I mentioned that has its issues in FM’s version, does not exist on those parts in GT7. GT7 just has much better attention to detail.

And thanks. I love the car. It’s a great car, but unfortunately, I think i want to sell it for a manual MK5 Supra. At my age, I want something different with a bigger engine and RWD. I’ve been modifying and racing Hondas for almost 25 years now. :smirk:

This has been bug-logged now, so let’s see if they can get the car 100% correct.

It was bug-logged a month ago, actually.

No problem! :slightly_smiling_face:

That’s quite sad, it sounds like you want to move on to something more powerful and can actually drift, right?

Well, for my time being, I’ll stay with my GT86. :sunglasses:

Then whoops! One month late, I was.

Well, in the early moments if I got the MK5, it wont be more powerful than my FK8, since the Supra will be stock for a bit. It’s heavier and makes less power and torque than my FK8.

I never liked drifting. I just think a proper race car is RWD, especially if you’re planning to build it for higher power. I’ll be 40 in November, and I just feel like it’s time to make a change. Also, I’m mainly a coupe guy. When i got the FK8 in 2017, it was a somewhat hard decision just because of that fact…its 4 doors (or 5 if you count the hatch) and bigger. I went out of my norm with this decision. Amazing car, and fun to drive, and very comfortable though. I juat prefer something smaller and compact. The Supra is perfect and sounds great too, and real easy to make power from. Honda is pretty much straying away from coupes now. Might be a while til we get them back. If the Type R was a coupe or a smaller, actual hatch-styled car, I may keep it.

Who knows though. I may keep the FK8. It is paid off.

@JoeCivic
The car model seems to be in great condition in FH5. You’re right about the carbon-fiber like dry weave pattern as it is clearly visible on the FH5 model. The ground effects are carbon-fiber like dry black weave with no clear coat or gloss finish on the model there.

With the modeling flaws you mentioned, and I fully agree with them, I know for a fact that the FM 2023’s unique modeling, graphical and lighting errors are also making the car look its worst - given every car looks horrendous in this game cause it’s “built from the ground up” and is the “most advanced racing game ever”.

It’s been extremely tiring explaining the aforementioned graphical and lighting problem in great detail twice since almost a year - only to be closed by the forum moderators since they seem to digest only one little bit of information at a time and like to close these posts so they can pushed under the rug.

The game clearly has always had serious trouble representing and distinguishing materials and their lighting behaviour as everything is either overly matte or extremely reflective like the paint itself, no matter if its plastic, glass, metal, carbon fiber or alloy etc. Just have a look at any exterior or interior in FORZAVISTA and you can see this. Almost tin can or oily plastic like.

Hmm, okay. All up to you then.

Do you mind if I ask like what are your thoughts about the all-new Civic Type R FL5? It’s definitely a liftback. It has the same engine from the FK8 but difference is - it’s more powerful than the FK8’s stock HP output.

The FL5’s look is growing on me. I’m okay with it. That front end looks too big though. Kind of gives a balooga whale impression.

Adding more weight to a “Civic” title bothers me. The FK8 got heavier than previous generations, and then the FL5 a little heavier. I miss the lightweight smaller cars.

I prefer the FK8 style of the seats. The dash looks goofy to me. But the rest is fine. The engine isn’t much more powerful. Like a 10hp difference and it’s heavier. Also comes with a 3.8 final drive vs the FK8’s 4.1 final drive.

Then they pnly beat the FK8’s Nurburgring time with a Euro only version, that comes lighter, has different set of tires only bought from this Euro version, and running more boost. Seems like a cheaty way of claiming to be fastwr than the FK8 at the Nurburgring.

That’s my thoughts on it. Lol.

Almost a year later. How long does this take? Lol. I avoid driving my real life car still because of these ugly mistakes. It’s actually worse than the issues seen on other cars.

It often takes over 20 years.

20 years?! That can’t be right!

Look at the 22B, then look at all the FM1 models still in FM

I understand, but for one model, it would take like 8-12 months, wouldn’t it?

Nope, 20 years.

C’mon, that is not true.

I’d hate it to take that long. :joy:The errors on this Type R don’t even exist on FM7. It wasn’t 100% accurate on that game, but this game totally butchered the FK8 Type R.
