[ Holty ] Do people still want open source?

Hi some of you may remember the gamer tag as I used to tune for several garages and was among some of the highest rated tuners on the tuning marketplace since fm2… And was was voted favourite circuit tuner of fm4…

I started open sourcing my tunes some leaderboard and lobby racing tunes in fm4 and beginning of fm5 but due to real life time constraints couldn’t keep doing it…

But just lately I’ve been tuning again and wanted to know if people still appreciated open source tunes or shall I just put them up in the stf…

I do enjoy the open source tunes. I can build the car exactly how you put it, and then adjust for anything, like brake pressure, that doesn’t work for my driver style. Most ‘SF’ tunes don’t put what assists they are using, and if it’s on the wheel or controller.

Open Source tunes are generally welcomed, especially for higher-class cars where personal preference is still a factor.

I for example use no assists, which means I’d need to shorten 1st gear to not stall on launch. Others might want to tweak downforce levels for cars that turn in too sharply etc.

Hi Holty!
Long time no see you. It’s nice see you there, remember great times on FM4.

About OS yes, could be great, honestly i don’t read much becouse i’ve to change my parameters but it’s a good help for sure if you share your setups! You’re a great tuner. I’ll check for sure.

Ciao.

Good to see you back buddy, of course we want to see what you got!

I would also add that open source tunes are a great way to share your expertise and educate folks like myself in the nuances of tuning. I used quite a few of your tunes in FM4 and FM5 and always wondered “How he did that?” with cars I was having trouble with. I tune most of my own cars now and am in no way as good as you or the ERS guys, PTG, BAM and others so I have used open source to check what I’m doing against the more experienced tuners especially on more challenging cars.

I enjoy open sourcing my tunes as well, just haven’t have the time lately. We all welcome new open source if you dont care for the credits (im sure you dont)… welcome and yes we want more open source tuners.

Cheers punny and foot thanks for the welcome…
I’ll look at some builds for the weekend and put a couple up…

Please every remember they are tuned for me and may not drive the same for you… I use a controller and no assists and although some tunes maybe leaderboard a majority will be lobby cars as that’s what I prefer to do…

I have a600 r34 which is the fastest r34 round brands hatch running a 1:32.2 which will destroy ktms and monos… Who fancy a trying it???

Welcome back | Holty |…my first Forza was FM5, and you might recall, I had the opportunity of a couple of PM exchanges regarding one of your open source tunes (*** Audi RS2 AVANT ***) that I ran at Prague. You gave me plenty of tips (both tuning & driving) which I have been using ever since. I’ve been getting better over time, yet, lots to learn. Again, thank you for your support with the knowledge.

I would absolutely be interested in testing the R34.

PRKid (My Gamer Tag was RelaxedPRKid on FM5.)…now, part of the HLR team.
.

And yes I do remember helping you as that’s wat the tuning marketplace was designed for… And I’m glad my advice helped you… And once forza servers are working again I’ll be updating with some tunes…

me me me … lol… wb Holty, share your knowledge (again)

Open source meaning that I would be able to edit it? If so, hell yes!

Hey Holty, I’d love to mess about with your tunes.

It shouldn’t be underestimated how much people can learn from other people’s build and tunes, encouraging more and more to dabble.

I appreciate the open source tunes as well. I’m still fairly new to tuning and with open source it really helps me to understand what’s doing what, and it gives a great place for me to start tweaking towards my driving style rather than a moderate base tune where I struggle to fine tune because so much needs working on. Looking forward to it! Thank you.

I’m always game! Please, do tell…

Great to see you back. I remember a no aero MK 2 Golf you shared back on FM4 that thing was awesome. Would love to see more of your stuff. I keep meaning to open source some of mine but never get round to it. Looking forward to it.

Cheers! Berzerker

Cheers I did love that mk2 golf it was quite the sleeper…

WB Holty. Glad to see you getting out the wrenches in FM6. And R34, who doesn’t love them??? Share your knowledge, we are all sponges. lol
