Although there is a Vauxhall Monaro VXR in the game, it has an atrocious, deformed model and if there isn’t a way to fix it, this car should be added, the model is right there in Forza Motorsport 4. I’m personally surprised that it isn’t in a game that takes place in Mexico instead of a European market car.

instead of giving us the poorly modelled vauxhall monaro that we’ve had since FM2, lets get the original car in the game. the legendary holden monaro. there’s various ways to implement this car, but every option is worthy of the forza games.

first option is to add the holden monaro, that was reborn in 2001. powered by the LS1, and styled by the legendary mike simcoe. here it is parked next to the original HK monaro that we already have in FM7.

the next option is to add HSV’s interpretation (holden’s version of AMG), in the form of the HSV coupe GTS. here’s one being pulled over by the australian rozzers.

a beautiful example in devil yellow.

the final option, and the most interesting option, is the monaro HRT 427. this car was the homologation road car for national GT regulations in the early 2000’s. this was the worldwide standard for GT racing back then, equivalent to what GT3 is now. this car was basically holden’s answer to a 360 stradale, or a 911 GT3, but it was never sold to the public since would have cost holden too much to meet australian design regulations. this thing was very different to the standard monaro, powered by the same 7 litre 427ci out of the chevrolet C5.R race car, fitted with massive brakes and double wishbone suspension. the interior was stripped out for weight reduction and it produced almost 500 horsepower in road trim.

while the road car was cancelled, the car still raced in australian GT racing, with seriously impressive results. it dominated the bathurst 24HR races, and fought for wins throughout the years it raced. here’s a photo of the two 427 monaro’s beating 911’s, mosler’s, M3 GTR’s, and diablo GTR’s.

this car is a dream to have in any forza game, please let us indulge in this wonderous machine.

If Vauxhall Monaro VXR is brought in to FH4 & 5, then this US-marketed Pontiac GTO should be coming back as well.

if we’re going to talk about the pontiac GTO, and the vauxhall monaro, then we need to be including the original car; the holden monaro.

the pontiac and the vauxhall were simply rebadged versions of the holden monaro, they were fully designed and built in australia and exported across the world.
