Another week where you could almost pick any car, and set a good time. The top 4 drivers used different cars, with minsons setting 2nd place times in both the Coronet, and the GTO
xAlea took first place yet again with minsons, and myself filling the podium places. Quite happy that PRKid didn’t get a chance to run LOL. Rare chance for me a podium
The final leaderboard:
Congratulations to our podium drivers!
1st place: xAlea Jacta Est
2nd place: minsons
3rd place: HLR Moss
Thanks to everyone for joining in.
This week we are off to Prague to run some vintage sports cars. It is one of my favourite tracks, and I’m hoping I can beat my current time with a car from this division. I’ll have fun trying!
Week 26
Prague Full
B Class Rivals
Cars restricted to the Vintage Sport GT division.
Event will close on Wednesday, 24th March at 9pm UK time (GMT).
We will track your times here - HLC Leaderboard .
The Vintage Sport GT Cars
1977 Aston Martin V8 Vantage
1970 Alfa Romeo Montreal
1968 Ferrari 365 GTB/4
1967 Lamborghini Miura P400
The Montreal and the Miura have been the cars to beat previously. They will probably be closely matched again on this track.
.
GREAT job to all…and, especially to you John on your Podium spot! …
PRKid
.
I managed to beat my previous Dodge Dart PB in the Miura.
Setup is shared for anyone that cares to give it a run. I only use 2 gears for the lap, which makes it a pleasure to drive!
I don’t mind the short version of Prague, but the full version gets a little lot onrampish. I really wish there were more options in this Division. Pantera, for one. Probably a bunch more cool cars that’d fit.
Will be taking the Heckin’ Chonker out for a spin, I think. The Miura’s pretty enough, but have a strict No Lamborghini policy. The other two just don’t click with me for whatever reason.
==
Edit to add:
First few runs were pretty rough, but I’m starting to get a feel for the track. There’s a very fine line between “surfing the camber” on the inside of the corner and running wide and having the car push like a pig straight into the Armco. Doesn’t help much the HC is kind of pushy to start with. I blame the fact that it looks like a Mustang.
Current best: 2:08.7xx

Prague may not be everyone’s idea of fun, but I thoroughly enjoyed chasing Fifty Inch around the city. Despite leading by a good 3 tenths approaching the final chicane, my failing reactions let me down every time Congratulations Fifty on a well deserved win!
I modified my shared setup by adding a street chassis to reduce slide on the rears, but my new time registered as though I had used the shared setup. Has anyone else ever experienced this? It surely should not happen.
The Miura was the car of choice, but minsons unsurprisingly managed to push the Montreal into a podium position.
The final leaderboard:
Congratulations to our podium drivers!
1st place: Fifty Inch
2nd place: HLR Moss
3rd place: minsons
Thanks to everyone for suffering the pain of that final chicane LOL.

The Lancia 037 Stradale is always very strong.
I’ve seen other weird things with shared setups, but not that particular one.
Hey Moss that was quite a battle and I agree the last chicane is a pain in the ass lol.
Don’t know how I managed the time - upon trying again today I couldn’t even remotely come close.
Hockenheim turned out not to be my cup of tea…
Official time… HLR BURNINASPHALT… Hockenheim Short… Hmmmm… something or other car… … (Lancia 037)… 1:08:237…
Moving on…
Not many cars can live with the Lotus 340R around Hock Short, holding down the top 32 positions on the leaderboard. The Lancia 037 came closest, with the Lancia Delta S4 close behind.
xAlea won convincingly in the Lancia 037, with razzitGT, and minsons fighting for the remaining podium places. minsons and STIdarkside 88 both drove the Lancia Delta S4 to finish in excellent 3rd and 4th positions.
The final leaderboard:
Congratulations to our podium drivers!
1st place: xAlea Jacta Est
2nd place: razzitGT

Judging by the current leaderboard the Mercedes-Benz 190E will be the car to beat
The 190E has been the dominant car around the Bernese Alps since the track was introduced from what I can remember. I’ve managed a 1:31.980 this week in it.
I found watching Wil Zoom’s replay quite useful. He uses some lines in corners which I hadn’t used in the past .
Coming down the mountain has always been the hardest part of the track if you get it wrong you lose loads of time.
Bernese Alps Stadtplatz is one of my favorite tracks, so especially looking forward to this weeks HLC - great choice!
OltanisOrbit obviously likes it too LOL. He is straight in with 31st on the leaderboard from 7,719.
Not going to be getting much seat time this week, either. Trying to get my garage lighting finished (I keep slacking off on it) and am working on an auto expense tracker spreadsheet. Speaking of which, time to run some wiring.
WHAT A RUSH!!!
Official time… Alps Stadtplatz… MB 190E… HLR BURNINASPHALT… 1:34:751
This event was dominated by the Mercedes-Benz 190E, and almost turned into a single setup time trial due to the quality of V12 Painjunky’s shared setup. Considering the almost 8000 runners, it is quite an achievement for us to end with the majority in the top 100, and 5 in the top 20.
OltanisOrbit, minsons, and razzitGT ran amazing times to finish in the top 10, with xAlea running his own setup to finish 4th. minsons tried hard to find an alternative car to compete, setting a very good time in the Alfa Romeo SZ Zagato, before switching to the 190E on the last day.
The final leaderboard:
Congratulations to our podium drivers!
1st place: OltanisOrbit
2nd place: minsons
3rd place: razzitGT
Thanks to everyone for competing.

Fun as always.
