Well if you are paying around £80 which would be the UE version you’d expect basic things like “matte” drivatars or silly inaccuracies and blatent wrong sounds to be corrected beforehand rather than just patching it later when someone notices it and enough people ask for it to be fixed.
I’m not from the UK but maybe the recent Brexit has something to do with that, I’m not sure how that’s affected the pound. What I can say is that I live in Canada and our exchange rate sucks too, I paid $147.00 for the game and didn’t even receive the Hoonigan pack because I bought the disc. The nearly forcertain two expansions that are in the future pipeline will add another expected $60.00. So I can kinda feel your pain there.
At least we are all talking sense and on the same page > Dear customers we are having a few issues and trying to resolve them as quickly as possible. Now even if this is just kicking the can down the road it does work to a degree for a period of time.
I will say this though. When they released the patch my edition here on PC was at least 80% better and I could go 2-3-6 hours not perfect still crashing but from where it was it was like a gift from God. T-10 has not released another patch since then, however, MS did and one for the Xbox accessories app and now I reckon it is as bad or worse than before and some users that did not appear to be having as many issues are now.
I am sure they are not on holidays soaking up the sun somewhere and are working hard at it… I hope
Well, this is not my gaming profile and I am a Tier 11 with every point possible except from Forza 6 Apex and Forza 7. I started Forza 7 with 18,000 Tier points. I also have earned every achievement from every Motorsport and Horizon game except this one and Apex.
If that doesn’t classify me as a Vet, then I am not sure what does. Common sense tells me that this game is not a finished product, just by looking at the menus and seeing multiple features that read coming soon. Historically Forza games are at least updated once a month when the new car pack comes out and that’s when you can expect to see fixes. They don’t push an update every time they fix a single thing. Problems are addressed in bunches and by priority.
The update last week was not a scheduled update. It was an emergency one to fix the exploits people were using.
How can you confirm its a [Mod Edit - Abbreviated profanity, profanity and profanity that is disguised but still alludes to the words are not permitted - D] when there are still clueless customers waiting? (Xbox One X)
Half the game got shipped, most likely everything will get unlocked upon release.
Me too, its pathetic how bad this game is. I was totally willing to give them some slack until they prioritized fixing the exploits before things like being able to change your car/hear your car in multiplayer lobbies. And I didn’t even take advantage of those exploits so not salty because of that.
Who wants to play a game where you’re LUCKY to be able to change your car in between races?
Who wants to play a game when every other race you can’t even hear your car?
This has been the worst game release I have encountered in 20+ years of gaming and its not even close. The lack of communication just makes it worse, too.
I cancelled my Xbox one x off the back off this game. I’ve already got a 4k setup, I don’t need an X. I ain’t wasting money on a half finished game which is actively trolling its fan base.
Re: Xbox x , I had plans of getting it when it comes out, I was looking forward to it, however the way the game is now, glitches and lacking features (storefronts, clubs garage etc etc etc) I see no reason to rush out and buy it next month. I only play forza and world of tanks. Tanks is fine on xb1 I was only getting xb1x for forza. In fact, the way it is now I’ll prob take a break from fm7.
Fm5 came out, I didn’t care for it, went back to fm4. Fm6 I had a ton of trouble getting into and staying in muiltplayer, after a while I just stoped playing it, i came back to it 6 months later and I found fm6 to be clear of many of the bug issues and fm6 was an enjoyable game.
When you make a game you have two options, make it for yourself and hope others like it, or make it for the masses and hope your lack of vision doesn’t infringe on profit.
Turn10 thinks they are innovating by refusing to do either. They constantly parade words like community and vision while actively saying they have no inspiration from the industry and listen to the community but if you listen to these guys talk they sound like execs at a financial institution. Their view of community is more like a commodity, and now that they have a perceived Monopoly on Xbox racing with two games in one franchise spreading the gamut between Sim and arcade they feel they can weaponize this to drive their users to spend more money. This isn’t how you treat the people who made you who you are in this industry, it’s sickening the arrogance protected by these guys and the way they tout all of us like we had anything to do with their decisions, this game has a community, but they have been alienated and run out of town by a developer who doesn’t care in the slightest about anything but margins.
I’m actually starting to feel sorry for the moderators here, kinds like butters having to edit Twitter for stars. I hope they have a sense of humor still.
I’d be willing to bet that the majority of the players saying that there is “no problem” with the game have not touched the multiplayer side…and if they have touched it and say there is no problem, clearly they have not played FM4 or FM6 at all. Multiplayer is where most of the problems are present in my opinion.
Unfortunately for me, that is where I spend 99% of my time. As such, I haven’t really touched the game in a week as it’s so bad. I have made a few laps comparing some of my times to Super GT’s times, but nothing beyond that.
I will try to get some MP in tonight, but I fully expect it to be a crash-a-thon…not on the track, but the game crashing back to the home screen.
Ditto. Online tonight was a joke. We are a twelve strong group, all UK players with good connections, total s…t…u…t…t…e…r…fest, unplayable, crashing to dashboard, frame rate slowing down in corners to a headache inducing flicker. And this is regular.
If the game was meant to be optimised for Xbox One X buyers, what happens when that is released and all the locked features are opened? Do Xbox One owners get some sort of partial refund for an incomplete game? I doubt it.
It’s time Turn 10 came clean and let everyone know that F7 was never going to run on the Xbox. I’m £80 out of pocket at the moment and I’m in a group of twelve regular racers who feel the same, there was even talk of going back to F6. At least we know that is a solid game. Very disappointed with Turn 10 at the moment, I feel let down and misinformed.
It’s sad how AAA devs have seen the explosion of early access and decided that since Steve can make a game in his break time at his real job and sell it before it’s done that a full time production studio with brick and mortar buildings and over a hundred direct and countless outsourced employees can sit on their hands for an entire 2 year dev cycle release not even half done rebake be of game 7 in a series, and then base their Dev effort on the cash flow their official published release generates in the first few weeks while maybe only making a warm and fuzzy “we’re working on it” statement and having no other interactions with their customers. Meanwhile Steve has more combined posts in his steam community hub than AAA Dev has public statements in their entire history, and actually listens to and plays with his community.
I agree. We deserve a reply. They had no problem sucking up my 100 bucks. The game is a mess. Cars aren’t even painted in races, it crashes a lot, the AI racers turn most races into a demolition derby even when you have aggression turned off. The credits you get for races is totally ridiculous when the cars are a mill plus that you want or in the case of some you HAVE to buy to race a certain series. Why is it they (turn 10) had the time to invest in locking up the cheats (glitches) people were using to get themselves credits instead of spending time fixing other more important issues? While I agree that people shouldn’t cheat like that, I really could care less. It isn’t hurting me if they get all the cars they want and if they get them dishonestly then there isn’t really any satisfaction in getting them now is there? I don’t want the credits handed to me without work but why take away the extra credits they gave us in past games? All the other Forza games (and I have played them all) had a much better set up for moving forward and obtaining more money to up your garage. There isn’t any incentive to turn off assists. Used to get bonuses. The drivatars are all the same until you get to above average. Why not give a credit boost starting at least average. Might as well race on new driver if your car can’t get up to first place in above average. Starting out in the middle and having all the other cars wreck into you just really makes for a bad race. Ah well, I have ranted enough. I am sure they could care less about all of us but I bet they won’t be getting any more of my houses money for their games if they don’t rectify some of this mess soon or at least reply to us about when they think they will have some of it straight. Like I said, they busted azz to fix the cheat glitches, even took down the servers for hours one night. I thought I had corrupted data and uninstalled the darn game because they weren’t even kind enough to tell us they were down. I spent hours re-installing the game. NOT HAPPY. I found out it wasn’t my issue only after I had followed the Xbox sites instructions for when a game wouldn’t load. Bet I don’t do that again. They could have given us a small morsel of credits or a crappy car to make up for that but they didn’t even acknowledge they had taken down the servers let alone reimburse me for all my wasted time. Thanks Turn 10. I was a loyal fan of these games. Now I am thinking my PS4 is gonna get a lot of time with GT just out today. I played them too and I can only hope I won’t get the disappointment I have thus far with Forza 7.
Those of you that say we should stop complaining and give them time must not have spent their hard earned dollars on a game that should not have been released as ready to play. Shoulda put it out as a beta until they had it finished. Feels like we have been screwed and never even got kissed.
You’re not, Turn 10 don’t discuss issues until they announce plans to fix them or they result in widespread non-Forza media attention and mass-refunding (like what happened with VIP).
Many technical issues will be fixed in updates.
Some quality of life improvements will come too.
If you have issues with the fundamental features of the game (Homologation, Prize Crates etc.) they won’t be fixed. Those aren’t the types of things that can be patched away as they require the game’s entire foundation to be ripped apart. Check back in 2 years time and see if Forza Motorsport 8 has the same features.
I’m just one guy, but I’ll tell you if those core features aren’t fixed - right here in FM7, I won’t be around for an 8. I hold a grudge that way. Burn me, ok, but I’ll never buy from you again. And for the record, I’ve been here since FM1 (despite what my gamertag says) and I love the FM franchise, but I really don’t like the direction Turn10 has been taking with it. More racing/tuning/upgrading and less caca please.
