I was chatting with Yakov about tuning FF cars and sent him a tune i had for the VW Beetle 04 . As it would otherwise just be sitting around in my garage i thought i would use it for the next challenge . It’s a stepdown in class from my usual tunes , D class in fact . The track i used for the challenge is Maple Full . The time i set is 1:51:371 . The prizes are 25M for beating the time . I havent left too much on the track and hopefully it will be a proper challenge this time . The tune and paint required for the challenge are both in my SF now entitled " Herbie " . The challenge will run for 3 weeks from today and end Monday 18th of May . Here is a pic of the car to be used .

Picked up the tune - can’t see the paint though - is it in yours or Yakov’s SF?
Just done 5 laps unpainted, hoping the paint can get me a few tenths - 1:51.603 lap 5
running manual (no clutch), ABS
Car feels pretty good round there, always liked Maple and had reason to spend a fair bit of time on there in the last month or so. Will try again once I’ve got the paint sorted.

Ok i just ran 7 laps (unpainted as well) and it is a blast!-but unlike DM i hope the paints worth a full second because so far can only muster a 1:52.038 lap=).

Thanks for uploading the paint, picked it up and switched to Manual with Clutch - so not sure which did the trick for me but I managed;

Hi, just managed a 1:51:880 that’s just about flat out for me.
Will keep trying but another 1/2 a second is probably beyond me.

Thought I would start joining these comps - as it is much easier now that I see “ghosts” ;] Great tune, voldemortt ;] I am no “racer” by any means but am proud to say I mustered a 1:51.759 ;] Lap 18 - replay posted. Of course I will keep trying to beat your time but I also can say I posted a PB ;] Maybe I can “luck out” and place in the photo comp, that is IF someone were to start one ;] might be the only way I could nab whatever prize cars Yakov is fixin’ to present ;]

I’ve got about three different prize cars I’m planning to make available this month. Two of them are ready, so once I get the third one finished I’ll post 'em here. And yes, one of the three cars will be available to anyone who posts at least one pic. ; )

Just checked what assists you’re running out of interest - tried running the car again with the same settings and managed 1:51.055 so reckon you can do it.
& Ambrose, half a second isn’t an awful lot - I gained and lost that much on various attempts at this track - because of the gradients/ uphill sections if you carry a fraction more or less speed through a corner it can make a massive difference. Keep it tight through the corners but get back on the power as soon as you can to maximise the time.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, DM. Took me plenty of laps to acquire THAT time ;). But sure if I spend some more time outta the paint booth and on the track, hopefully I can get it done. Maybe if I spent less time trying to knock the ghost off the track so I can get ahead of it, I might get there;)
Who knows - I may even participate a time in next KOTT

I managed a 1.51.369 lap 5 on your Herbie Challenge which is my personal best on leaderboard also.
Gone from a 1:52.1 to a 1:51.847 getting there slowly.
New Lap time of 1:56.011. Gotta keep trying, at least beat voldemortt’s. Lol
