Hey guys,
I am not great at tuning to start, but the MR platform seems even harder than FR. I am running a series with a few friends and am taking the 458. I could use some help building a good baseline tune from someone who has some experience tuning. I know there are lots of experts here! Not necessarily looking for you to build the tune for me, so much as give me some guidelines to learn how to do it on my own. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks guys!

Try a higher decel setting on the diff to help with lift off oversteer
.
First, make sure you get the best build for the tracks you are planning to run the car. What tracks (grip/balanced/speed)? Between events, can you change the tune (not build) for track specific changes?
.
The car is quite tricky to tune, it’s a car thing rather than a tuning thing.
When we’ve tuned it, a couple of things we did:-
-Stiff springs
-Lower accel (to stop it snapping on exit)
-High decel
-Stiff damping
-Lower camber, don’t put like -2.0 in it.
It really doesn’t like elevation changes so it will feel decent at Silverstone and then quite easily feel awful at Sonoma.
The car’s issue is off throttle oversteer, so raise your decel as others have said. I’ve had great success running 100/100 diff on the 458, surprisingly. Also run low camber, drop rear tire pressures a tad, and make your front rebound slightly stiffer than the rear.
I typically run more front brake bias on this car too. I normally start at 45% with most cars, but I could only go to 48% in the 458 before it started getting nasty under braking.
