Have cars like the Escalade, Hummer, Limo, etc, been banned from racing online? [see post #52]

If the cars weren’t competitive, I would not use them. I don’t use these cars in S class or higher for example, because they’re not competitive.

They’re no different than any other car that is a few seconds slower than the LB cars. The fact is, in B class, my Escalade is faster than my Lotus Exige around tight handling tracks, so in your hypothetical game where they’re slow you would have a point, the cars would be pointless. But in the game, as is, they are competitive, so I use them.

[To everyone I’m arguing with, I’m gonna peace out of this thread, obviously no minds are being changed, for me or you, Snow Owl has explained all I really wanted to know, even if I disagree it doesn’t matter really. I’ve said all I can say. Thanks for discussing it, hopefully Turn 10 can gain something from what some of us have said]

The a Jeep Willys is “a great car”?

If a game exists where a Jeep Willys, in any tune, can compete in a race against a real sports car, even the most modest model, then the game’s car and PI modeling are no where near realistic.

You’re telling me a leaf sprung, narrow-tired, rigid-axeled, steel military off-road utility vehicle can out-pace a modern, light-weight, low-slung sport car? If realism is what Forza and Turn 10 want to sell games on and shout to the rafters about then consider their job an epic failure. What Forza apparently amounts to is the same car model with slightly different body kits and restrictions on them.

I’m convinced. It’s a game, not a simulator. Why have a steering wheel at all? Why not just use the “X” button for turning left, and the “B” button for turning right?

Now let’s see them put that in their marketing literature.

Yes, that’s exactly what I’m telling you, the game IS NOT realistic, this is what I’m telling you. Within the context of the game, yes, the video game we’re arguing about right now, not real life, the Jeep is a very good car up to B class, and A class to a lesser extent.

That said, you could argue the point of the upgrades are to improve these things, race suspension fixes the leaf spring and solid axle issue, etc.

You know what, I agree. A class should be the limit for them, I could even agree with B class for some of them.

I’ve never played in S class and raced against one, but I don’t doubt they’re not competitive at all compared to the competition.

I see both points, but I lean towards the camp of getting SUV’s and Limo’s out of MP(at least in the higher classes). I don’t think I’ve seen one time where they were anywhere near competitive in S class(where I spend most of my time). They are being used as nothing more than troll vehicles.

So, Forza is nothing more than Need for Speed with 4-5 car models all wearing different skins and slight performance restrictions.

It’s still a fun game, I’ll still play it but it’s not what I expected when it was sold to me. I think they call that fraud in the business world, but software isn’t business. It’s snake oil and and herbal penis enlarger.

I’m going to have to check and see exactly what was advertised to me when I bought it.

Your not going to justify your case op, not around here. 99% of us have been victimized by these large cars far more than raced clean by them so it’s only natural we are happy they are gone. Some of my racing buddies are top notch names who have raced with some of these large cars, but most of this community knows they aren’t wreckers. I haven’t heard any complaints from them cause they understand why these cars were banned. And to be honest you sound like a mad wrecker trying to justify why you want your derby cars back. Not accusing you, just my observation.

Judging by the last comment I’m one of the 1% who actually has had no problems with the big vehicles. Until recently I raced in b class lobbys without ever meeting a large vehicle. The actual problems came from the rocket cars. Small cars with awd and powerful engines to chase you and spin you out so there friend could win. I moved to the ghost lobby races and immediately noticed large vehicles racing clean and sometimes very fast on the less windy circuits.

TLDR. I haven’t had a problem with big cars and it’s just random luck if you meet them.

I do probably 25 -30 Multiplayer A Class races a day. I have never been beaten by an SUV (Well, once, but that was Raceboy in a wagoner). I have though, been wrecked… Many times. Anybody who says they were fast in an SUV are probably lying to themselves, and this decision T10 made will probably have a better effect on the quality of racing than you haters think.

In c class the suv’s have a minor advantage with bigger power. Some like the ram runner and the limo with clever tuning car be a top 5 place in some races when tuned correctly.

This would be a non issue if SUVs and the like didn’t have unrealistic grip physics. It’s like the grip modeling for them was copied from Horizon to FM.

However, since they are oddballs and were really fast, some will be missed by me. It’s a love hate deal with me. I love making stupid cars fast, but I hate when terrible driving cars in real life outperform legitimate cars in game.

The land rover, jeeps, and Bronco can still be raced and you can still dominate from E to C with them with or without aero so it’s not a total “ban”.

For what it’s worth, I did about 20 races in D and saw only one intentionally wrecker who was in a miata. Not sure if the “ban” is working but it was a bit more enjoyable online.

Hi all just wondering if anyone else has the same issue or can give me an answer.
In single player I do have the Ford Transit
The 1983 GMC Vandura plus a couple of Jeep Cherokees but when on multiplayer lobbies they are not even shown in my garage to be able to pick ???
I like to use obscure vehicles sometimes just to have a change from the norm NOT to go round wrecking others !!!

Haven’t found an answer yet on here so hope you can help
Thanks in advance

Certain vehicles can no longer be used in MP and this includes the cars you’ve mentioned. The objective is to try to discourage unsporting behaviour by many who use the bigger cars to wreck races.

You can still use them in the ghost lobbys, I was racing against a hummer in C class no collisions yesterday.

I suppose you can only wreck yourself in ghost races, it sounds logical enough and at least for those who argue about using it legitimately, they have somewhere they can race them, perhaps even without scores of people thinking they have worse intentions.

I’d like to see non Race cars banned from P class because no one driving a Lamborghini missile is ever going to not kill 10 racers at the start of every race.

I think this is quite ridiculous to be honest, you could take a Lotus an completely wipe out the rest of the grid just easy as you could in a large car due to weird collision physics, back in Forza 4 wreckers would run Bentleys, Dodge Rampages etc. However in this game a big car just simply isn’t needed to wreck. As for it being a racing game and that it shouldn’t contain big cars. Well why not? They’re capable of racing in their own leagues, and if any jeeps are competitive outside of their normal class, then awesome, if someone tunes a jeep willy’s to be a leaderboard car, does it not deserve to stay a leaderboard car until something comes along to beat it?

Realistically no amount of “tuning” should make a Jeep Willys competitive, unless the game physics are just plain botched. A true racing simulator would make any live axled, high-COG vehicle impossible to be competitive. Forza isn’t a racing simulator, it’s a racing game designed to appeal to as large a group of people as possible.

In that aspect it succeeds.

I see your point and i agree completely, a Jeep Willys just shouldn’t stack up against an Alfa 33 Stradale A class, (Long Beach West A class Leaderboard times is an example) But unfortunately it does at the moment, but that’s just how it is the now in the game. But still, T10 should not remove cars just because someone used a Bentley to ram another player or lobby, T10 should focus on removing the player, whether it be by warning message, ban etc. I mean you don’t blame the knife when someone gets stabbed do you? No you blame the perpetrator.

I raced ONE evening in E-class lobbies, and got constantly wrecked by Bronco’s and F100’s instead of Limo’s which I have personally never been hit by and raced competitively myself.
So, by T10’s way of doing things they’ll get banned from online as well, and in a few months time all we’ll have left online are Ariel Atom’s and BAC Mono’s.

Wreckers and suvs have been in the franchise for over half a decade, if this is really a solution why are they doing in now?Especially considering how much they have invested in the idea of large vehicles and sold them at extra cost. That’s a pretty shady business practice in my opinion. Especially considered it is silly to think it’s going to solve the problem people are not gonna stop just because they can’t use the biggest cars in the game they are just gonna use they next biggest vehicles that arnt banned

Just a quick note. Those big cars can be used in Sim League. Although I haven’t seen any people driving. The biggest car I saw people using is a BMW X5 M. Interesting decision.
