I recently bought a pre owned xbox 360 from a local second hand electrical store along with a few games! Forza Motorsport 4 being one of them. I have never realy been into xbox or gaming in general and after much persuasion from friends I decided to go ahead and pick one up cheap and join xbox live! I was talked trough how to set it all up etc and once I had finished I was then talked trough how to navigate the menu and features in forza, everything was going ell up until the point a friend told me to try and beat their score on rivals . When I received a message on screen stating “this feature has been temporarily disabled. Please see Forzamotorsport.net for more info.” So this bring me to this forum and this post! Please can somebody help me out and explain to me why I cannot access certain features in the game itself.
Well, do you have a gold account? Gold is needed for some parts of Forza 4. Secondly when buying a used Xbox you run the risk that it might have been banned from Live or from some games. There is nothing you can do except return it to the retailer that you got it from.
I am currently on a 7 day xbox live gold trial that came with the xbox. I pan on upgrading once this trial has ended!
When you mention that the xbox may have been banned. I don’t think is has otherwise I would not be able to play online would I? Or is there different ways this is implemented?
It depends. The Xbox may have been banned by Turn 10 from the Forza servers. If that were the case you would still be able to play other games online, just not Forza games. Unless I misunderstood your post? I was getting out of it that the online features do not work.
Yes you are correct with the info you could interpret from my original post. As the xbox seems to work fine for other games what would you suggest I do about my predicament?
I hate to be the one to tell you the bad news but your only option is to return the Xbox. You can ask for a exchange if that store allows it. There is no way to have a ban removed off a unit.
Is there a way I can find out if said unit is indeed banned? Also from reading other posts on here is it possible that my account may be in fact under review? As there is no in game message stating that I have been banned or suspended.
You can try sending a email to forzafb@microsoft.com You will get a automated reply but they do read all emails. It might take a few days but they will get to it. I can’t guarantee they will reply.
