As a new player to Forza Motorsport, I have been exploring the lower classes of cars in the game. However, I find it challenging to create competitive race builds due to my lack of familiarity with the tuning system.
The tuning system is quite intricate, and it takes time to learn. This can be a deterrent for newer players who are not yet familiar with it.
Fortunately, users like RP Chronic, PTG Jamie, Hoki Hoshi, Manteo Max, and many other creators have been a great help. Without them, I would be lost in this massive game.
It forces new players to sacrifice time they could be improving their racing skills on the track to researching the intricacies of building a car, which is not my first interest.
Unfortunately, if you use anything but the non-meta cars, you may face harassment from other players. This makes it even more difficult for new players to enjoy the game entirely.
Thanks for not blacking out all the names

I don’t bother with featured MP, so i race whatever car and build i want. Even if i did, I’d still race a Miata or whatever other “meta” car if i felt like it. As long as you’re not breaking any rules and are playing within the spirit of the game, don’t let other people dictate how you have fun.

Your insight on the matter is much appreciated.
So, I was stuck and frustrated, and it seemed my skills rating had stagnated around 2000, even not using any assistance. I always got left in midfield by the leaders, and I wasn’t improving my racing skills.
Finally, I decided to try different settings, and I found that turning on assists while using the Mazda’s insane handling and grip build worked wonders for me. My score improved drastically after that.
I can also see the opposing side of the coin. Someone who has spent a severe amount of time learning all of the ins and outs of tuning the PI system through multiple Forza games would then, from that point forward, be saddled with having to compete against a fleet of the same cars, driving just as fast, but without having made that same perceived investment of time and effort into becoming that skilled.

I’ve had an instance where someone who couldn’t pass my car for the majoriry of the race got annoyed and messaged me about my “slow car” being in their way and to get it off the circuit.
That car was a Nissan Pulsar that had set the second fastest lap that race.
Slow… Describes a lot of things about that conversation but not the car or the driver.

It’s not my fault if my opponents choose to use suboptimal strategies.
So long as people race clean, I don’t care what car they drive, bring it on.

Sorry for not including you in the list of people who have helped me understand racing. Your YouTube videos are an incredible source of information.

Since I don’t care about driver rating I use cars that I enjoy. If they are quick, I’ll do good. If they aren’t, I won’t.
In the few instances where I used “meta” cars and won I often received provocative messages (using hacks, being a meta-abuser or whatever).
Unfortunately it’s the nature of online gaming.

I wish I could stop caring about the driver rating. Unfortunately it’s the ONLY stat or metric we have about our online performance so here we are.

Yeah but imagine if your slow car wasn’t in the way, just how fast that guy would have been. Might have been a new land speed record.

I have a few of them, but most of mine are at a huge power deficit (way too many points spent on tires, brakes that aren’t really necessary, etc) to be “META”- aka I’m fairly quick in the corners, but a sitting duck on anything approaching a straightaway- so i don’t have any concerns with driving them.
That being said, I don’t usually win either- The downside to building “handling at all costs”" cars, is that you’re faster where everyone else isn’t- and while that might sound like a good idea in theory, in practice it means that the one area of the track where you’re quickest will be clogged with cars moving much slower, and unless you’re out front, your lap times are going to be way off the pace.

Nothing anybody does (or doesn’t do) would be guaranteed to escape any & all trolling or shaming or gatekeeping or toxicity.
As long as you respect the rules, play your game your way.
Don’t bother trying to make the game less enjoyable for yourself just to appease strangers online.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. This is all excellent advice.

Had an instance where someone messaged me about my “slow car” too, he told to me to try his miata e class for see the difference, i lvled one. Invit him on a GP nurb 5 lap, he left the race after 3 laps and told me “so you see, you’re fast”. Delete the miata of my garage then

People are telling you, you can’t use an RX3?
Are you actually playing FM8?, or are you testing some sort of A.I learning?
I’ll stick with the A.I idea considering the names that were dropped

You have already bought up the Mazda issues, yeah they suck.

I use Grammarly to catch the many grammar mistakes I make due to my ADHD. While it makes my writing seem robotic, it improves my communication. I deleted a DM exchange because it broke forum rules.
I mainly play in online lobbies and prefer not to receive DMs or voice chats from strangers who are upset about my choice of car in a game.

Please don’t use that program cause it sucks the life out of anything and everything good, nothing personal @H1GHDR1V3 on my comments, I was diagnosed with it back in 1985. I would rather you get it wrong than sound too right
Play with what you like and stuff what otherS say… and type
