Hard to choose a car before an event. Short time. Wrong pictures or no pictures in car select

Often when I’m in the menu choosing car, the pictures of the cars are all shuffled wrong or there’s no pictures showing at all.
If I wait, maybe a minute. Then sometimes the pictures are starting to show. But it’s really hard to choose correct car when doing online races or games. First it takes 10-15 sec to load the car select after joining an event, then 10-15 sec to filter/sort, and after that 10-15 sec to choose car with no or wrong pictures. 7/10 times i get a [Mod Edit - Abbreviated profanity, profanity and profanity that is disguised but still alludes to the words are not permitted - D] car for the event. Is there a fix?

I just get in the car I intend to use before I enter the event.

I wished it worked that way. Before entering ranked adventure I choose a car in freeroam that I like, often B or A class. But almost every time I join adventyre i am forced to choose a s2 car.

How in the world does filtering/sorting take 10-15 seconds? Should take 2-3, it does on my X1S.

The list of cars you might use is probably pretty short. Set them as favorites and things shouldn’t take long at all.

I’d recommend a USB 3 external SSD. A caddy is around £10 and 240GB drive £30 or less.

Loading the garage becomes near instant, shouldn’t have to do it but since I changed I’ve never looked back.

Are you using a 240GB drive? It’s just that I noticed the other day while deleting some game demos that it says a drive must be at least 250GB to hold games, or some wording like that, maybe must be over 250GB. I’m sure a 240GB drive didn’t meet the requirement it stated. Fortunately, I got a 500GB SSD for my USB 3 caddy, but I don’t know if a 240GB would actually work.

Mine is an Adata 700 256GB drive. Haven’t seen a size restriction before but it does come up as 256GB on Google.

I have a £25 240GB sata drive arriving in a couple of days to test in an original Xbox (2002) so I’ll give it a spin in a caddy and see if it works as a game drive.

If SSD not available then a USB3 3.5 inch drive may be fine. My PC has no issues with spinning rust, just my one S that’s laggy on the internal drive.

Ok, so my cheapo drive arrived.

240GB Integral ‘performance’ drive was recognised in the caddy and I was given the option to format for games or keep as media so a 240GB drive will be fine.
Note this is not a recommendation for this drive, it has no buffer DRAM so isn’t good for high usage scenarios such as an OS drive for reasons you can Google.

I also tried a 64GB SSD and a 120GB HDD, both of these only allowed me to link as media, no option to format for games so it seems the minimum required is 240GB.

I wish those would be that cheap, here cheapest ones cost at least 100€ and paying extra 50€ gets allready 500GB so feel so useless to buy 240GB.

Try hitting the guide button if the cars don’t load right away. It usually makes them pop after a few seconds.

Is the guide button the same as the select button on a Playstation/Nintento controller?

The xbox button. I don’t think there is an equivalent on those controllers.

Same issue here. I’m constantly selecting a car that I didn’t want because the images (and sometimes even the text) won’t load until the very last second, so it’s like a bonus game of vehicular Russian roulette. This does this to my favorites as well, so that in itself isn’t even much of a help. That said, and provided I didn’t have this problem and everything loaded promptly, it would be GREAT if we could break favorites up into groups or sub-categories with customizable labels.
