Hard Luck Racing's Hotlap Challenges - Taking a Summer Break - Thanks Everyone For Your Support

Only two of the Track Toys were really competitive in R Class, the Ultima Evo '15, and the Radical RXC '15. Both performed well, but the Ultima came out on top, and was run by the majority of the prize winners. A warm welcome to our new driver, specificity70, and thanks to everyone else that ran for helping create another successful event.

Here is a screenshot of the final leaderboard:

Once again we are offering exclusive liveries to the top 3 drivers in each Tier, and to the Tuner whose shared setup finished in the highest place when driven by someone else. Winning drivers in Tiers 2 and 3 will be promoted to the Tier above for the next event.

HLR Bubba took the early lead with a very impressive lap in the Ultima. RP IIJimboII took a little time to sort out his car, but eventually produced an excellent lap in the Ultima to claim the win, and post a top 20 time. RP Lothbrock overtook Lightsider74 on the final day to take 3rd place.

Tier 1 Prize winners

1st Place: RP IIJimboII driving a 2015 Ultima Evolution Coupe
2nd Place: HLR Bubba driving a 2015 Ultima Evolution Coupe
3rd Place: RP Lothbrock driving a 2015 Ultima Evolution Coupe
Tuner Prize: RP IIJimboII qualified for this prize, but won the livery for his driving.

Swerve C10 showed that he is very capable of driving the higher class cars to take 1st place in Tier 2. haulmarc gave another strong performance to take 2nd, whilst Crucian4 achieved a significant goal by finishing on the highly competitive Tier 2 podium driving one of his own setups.

Tier 2 Prize winners
1st Place: Swerve C10 driving a 2015 Ultima Evolution Coupe
2nd Place: haulmarc driving a 2015 Ultima Evolution Coupe
3rd Place: Crucian4 driving a 2015 Ultima Evolution Coupe

V8 Muscle, and Catsmeat could barely be separated at the top of Tier 3, despite driving different cars, with only 18 thousandths between them. Poppy Vox8431 took the final podium place, with BurninAsphalt just missing out once again.

Tier 3 Prize winners
1st Place: V8 Muscle driving a 2015 Ultima Evolution Coupe
2nd Place: Catsmeat driving a 2015 Radical RXC Turbo
3rd Place: Poppy Vox8431 driving a 2015 Radical RXC Turbo

Congratulations to all our prize winners. Each livery will carry a different race number, and will be personalised with the driverā€™s gamertag. I am more than happy to add race numbers of your choice if you message me with the details.

The 2015 Ultima Evolution Coupe 1020

The 2015 Radical RXC Turbo

To collect your livery drop me a message when you see me online, and I will share it long enough for you to download. I wonā€™t be upset if you decide you donā€™t want it.

Please try to collect them within a week. With 10 new liveries created every week, I canā€™t afford to hang onto them for too long before I run out of storage space. Uncollected liveries will be deleted when I hit my maximum livery limit.

NB. All exclusive liveries will not exist as a file to be reloaded once unshared and deleted. If you overwrite it, you will lose it.

Event 22
Track: Hakone GP
Class: C
Cars restricted to the Sport Coupe Icons division
Finishes, 15 minutes before Midnight BST on Monday, 229th April

Apologies to drivers who may have already run this track in fast cars. If you canā€™t beat your existing time we will accept evidence of a slower time. The only way that we think this can be done is by pausing the game after crossing the line, entering the Capture & share menu (via the XBox button), and selecting Record what happened. The save options are the last 15, 30, 45 seconds, or the last minute. The last minute is recommended. The saved clip can then be saved for upload to us, or to the Forum thread, as evidence.

Lol! I did. Was hoping that comment wouldnā€™t backfire though

Thanks. Iā€™ll look into that. It finally did launch but is stuttering. Perhaps that will fix the issue

Congrats to all Tier Podiums and RP_Jimbo! Still havenā€™t sorted out my Pc. Made some progress but life called so had to leave it alone. Hopefully I get it sorted in the next few days.

Sitting pretty with 69 Toyota 2000. 1:33.708. :blush::wave:

I ran out of time to try to secure my spot in T1, so its back to the verrrryyyy competitive T2!
Itā€™ll be fun trying to claw my way back in. Iā€™m glad it will be in a more relaxing, lower class car.

@Crucian4 - Just wanted to give a nod to your Ultima v2 tune (I think it was v2)ā€¦ very nice and the best I tried for me of the Ultimas and my driving style/habits. I wish I had tried it earlier.
I think I could have pushed my PB lower, but I just wanted to fall back to the Radical for my last laps.
Anyway, still a very nice tune, man!

Congrats to the podiums this week!

cheers! :beers:

Woo! I was trying to tier 1 podium but couldnt hit the lap using my lap quota. Just another strange deal where the R class car drives like a low class car, but faster. I guess the trend holds true in this game where D/C class experience transfers more seemlessly to R class.

Looks like the Porsche 550 is the way to go, with my friends list littered with the thing haha.
So I will sabotage myself and not use the Porsche 550 (for now).

So far, 1.29.603 in the Austin 3000. Sweet little drop top, I even went into driver view and cruised with the wind in digital hair :relieved:

Oh donā€™t get me wrong I still enjoyed it overall (in a sadistic sense!). Itā€™s just in my last runs I was sooo far ahead of 3rd place at sooo many different places in the lap only to dip a toe into the dirt, lock the brakes, go a smidge wide or get bucked off the track for some unknown reason!!

I gave up in the Ultima in the end, although it gave me my fastest time. I went back to the Radical with the @OcR_TRUEbk v3 tune, turned off the ghost and just lapped for fun.

I hated the Ultima. Just couldnā€™t make it work. Thought the Radical was a nice drive. I gave up trying to improve my time though as frustration got the better of me.

This week will be interesting. The 2000GT is in my (imaginary, sadly) dream garage so Iā€™m going to use that as much as I can - before giving up and switching to the Porsche with everyone else

1.28.905 with the Cosmoā€¦
I just cannot get the Toyota to handle. It can be done Iā€™m sure, just not by me

The speed some of you guys are carrying through the 2nd last left hander is unreal!

Ah, finally a more approachable class compared to the last weeks! (Sorry for not being here but I just cannot enjoy the higher classes with wheel)

Started of with the Datsun as I love that little car, but it feels a little unstable as itā€™s quite narrow. Switched to the Merc and within a couple laps I found a lot of improvements. It feels a little heavy but is more stable, Iā€™ll play around with my tune throughout the week to find further improvement.
For now itā€™s a 1:29.504

I think Iā€™ll also return to refusing the meta (unless I just really really like the car) and stick to picking cars I like. More playing for fun, less trying to be competitive!

I built a MG MGA Twin- Cam tune. Pretty easy to handle with linear gearing.
Definitely no Porsche 550, but fun to drive and no meta.

The game crashing is thing is kinda getting old.

Iā€™ll share my tune the next time I sign in. Will be C500.4!

Good speed hitting 141mph on back straight. I got the wheel lock set at 100. Some of the wheel users may what to lower it.

1:27.6xx with it so far.
