I donât really care, but I hope they take as long as they can to make this game as good as they can. I donât want another Forza to be half baked at launch.
Very true. Agree totally. Just something fun to think about.
Considering that Forza Horizon 6 has been in development since 2021 give or take it should be ready for an early release however Iâm expecting anywhere from February to August 2026 release for Forza Horizon 6 but since Playground Games 2nd team wants to release Fable in 2026 and the main team wants to release FH6 in 2026 then one of them has to release anywhere from February to May and the other release anywhere from June to August or September
As the GTA community meme goes, I wouldnât say having to now try and make it through another six months âexciting timesâ.
And as Iâve wrote in the other thread, I hope Playground/Microsoft donât believe that because Rockstar can seemingly get away with doing it, they donât just automatically slide the release date back into 2027 now.
most likely a early to middle of 2026 launch was already planned.
Here is my guess going from how long it took for each horizon game to launch after reveal:
from game reveal to launch
fh1: 4 months
fh2: 3 months
fh3: 3 months
fh4: 4 months
fh5: 5 months.
so it could be anytime between january and march.
On the Forza Horizon 6 release month thread a guy called @Scubadubba6524 posted a screen shot of the original leaker of Forza Horizon 6 saying that the target/hope is for the first half of 2026 to release FH6
Well, the FH5 livery comp Feature length has changed. It used to be 6 months, but now any features expire at the end of April (instead of something like âfirst week of Mayâ).
Thatâs a good point. Personally I donât really mind waiting for ages until a game drops, as long as itâs a sturdy gaming experience. I was really disappointed with FM23 when it launched and it charged a price of a full release title, even though it was clearly in a early access state.
With RDR2 for example, I never even considered regretting the purchase and Iâm sure GTA6 will have a similar customer satisfaction. Rockstar Games is well known for delaying their release dates multiple times, and while it was never as extreme as with GTA6, Iâm pretty sure this will have paid off as soon as it launches. The only real reason to release a game early, at least in my mind, is simply to satisfy investors, and we all know by now Microsoft loves investor money.
There is a lot of debate about how well Kunos is handling the launch of AC Evo, and while it certainly is a early access title for a reduced price, they are constantly working on getting it going. For FH6 I donât think a early access launch would work, just because of the expectations the community already has.
In general I think people donât really give devs enough time to develop their games. I mean itâs not 2014 anymore, where FH2 was considered a successful full release title, even though it had a lot less content and game modes compared to FH5, but then FH5 is expected to be developed in the same time frame, even though FH4 already was criticized for releasing in an unfinished state? If people want FH6 to have the same amount of content and game modes and all vehicles be rescanned and more bodykits and a fully fleshed out storyline etc⌠, then this game will simply just take ages to develop. And the bigger the game the longer the polishing phase of the development will take, as there is way more code that could be bugged.
So overall I would say the best solution is to push the release out as far as they can to get the most finished and stable game possible. There was already speculation about FM23 being a Spring release, but they then pushed it back to Fall. I think FH6, while being planned as a Spring release, will probably also be pushed back.
I would be disappointed if they pushed it back for the sole reason that they shouldnât be announcing something if they know they canât deliver on it. At what point will it be okay to keep saying âitâs coming, itâs comingâ and then not to commit to anything? Especially since they made the announcement at TGS. If they knew it would take an extra year to develop, they shouldâve just announced it at next yearâs TGS or Xbox summer showcase. I would still be disappointed but at least Iâd know theyâre not playing games on me. If they have something, might as well announce it. Play it straight.
Crew motorfestâs announcement to launch period for example. Say what you will about Ubisoft but they handled the marketing for that game pretty well. No stupid delays, no overpromising. Just a nice and smooth reveal to launch period. Shouldnât be that big of an ask for an almost 4 trillion dollar company. My excitement has been on a steep downhil since June already.
I can only imagine what being a Fable fan is. But ive read people seriously consdering that Xbox might very well cancel the game at this point. Horizon 5 has already been on a pretty thin ice, so I donât think delaying 6 as far as 2027 would be very well appreciated. Pushing out the game further doesnât necessarily mean it will release as a better product. The more they delay it, the more the expectations will go up and the excitement will only go down.
TDU SC for example. They pushed the game so many times and it was still a big mess on launch day. At some point they just had to release it. Xbox at least has Microsoftâs deep pockets to back them up. But not all games are gonna get the same treatment, even under the same company. Let alone for anyone else that isnât Microsoft. Assetto Corsa evo and the new rally game are another example. If they didnt release those games in early access, theyâd have to axe those projects in a year or two because they simply wouldnât survive.
Just wanted to say that I donât want it to happen. I got a PS5 Slim during clearance just for GTA6 and FH6. And as I said earlier, time is running for me. But especially with the whole Game Pass debacle, I donât think Microsoft/Xbox care about the response of their customers, and would just plough on their own path regardless.
If it was to be September 2026 say, even then the whole franchise will have been on ice for 15 months - so then âwhat does another six months matter?â. And FH5 and FM havenât had a definitive âendâ ever announced, with both developers just going into silence mode.
I wonât go back over the ârevealâ again, but it wasnât much what it was. And maybe Iâm wrong, but the atmosphere feels very similar to GTA6.
No actual change there! The designs are featured in game through May 8; edited the forums posts.
I think releasing it near GTA 6 would be a mistake. If they really need more time, early 2027 would probably be wiser.
Itâs not what I want, heâll no, however makes more business sense at least in my opinion if delay is necessary.
unlikely, turn 10 doesnt normally release titles earlier than that.
Well it might happen after all Forza Horizon 5 was released before Forza Motorsport â8â so anything is possible also the 2nd team of Playground Games is planning on releasing Fable Reboot in 2026 and the main Playground Games is planning on releasing Forza Horizon 6 in 2026 as well and GTA6 releasing in November 2026 also why would they be releasing a game play trailer in early 2026 if the game isnât ready yet instead of releasing it during the Xbox Games Showcase in June 2026? So hereâs my predictions Forza Horizon 6 will release in January to May or June and Fable Reboot will release in June to September or the other way around and GTA6 in November and I strongly believe this is gonna happen but I could be proven wrong so ![]()
Good thing PGG are releasing fh
Well Xbox are saying it releases âsoonâ , that might mean a year away but soon means earlier than that normally Iâd say.
I believe since GTA VI projected to be sold for around 100$. I think itâs a good news for other games, because people who donât have purchasing power for spending 100 grands for a video game will go playing something else with reasonable price. So no more for these publishers for fearing their games will be overshadowed by GTA.
