Graphics: Horizon 4 vs Motorsport 7

Does anyone know if Horizon 4 brings the graphics level up to Motorsport 7 or is it a next step beyond?

Track racing has very few elements compared with all the stuff you see in Horizon so probably not. It’s going to look like H3 maybe slightly better.

Horizon 3 has graphics equal to or better than Forza 7 already so it stands to reason that Horizon 4 will be just as good. Forza 7’s scenery is pretty last gen compared to 5 and 6. The trees look like cardboard cutouts unlike Horizon 3 which has more realistic trees that move with the weather.

Agreed, lots of cardboard stuff! If you really wanna be freaked out, go to the bathurst and on the back stretch go into photo mode and zoom in on the bystanders. Those 3D models are freaky!

They are constantly centered on the camera and rotate as you move about.

YEEEEESSSSSSS! That tripped me out the first time I saw. I dont spend time taking pics unless something catches my eye while i’m racing or its part of an achievement. Too see those cutouts follow the camera was creepy hahaha

The only thing that FH3 does better than FM7 is the environment. to make the game run at 60FPS in Forza 7, they have to have 2D Trees which are essentially 2 intersecting planes of a 2D sprite, making them look 3D from a distance, but look really bad up close. I don’t think most of these 2D trees cast shadows either in FM7. The textures of 2D environments in FM7 are also pretty poor. Crowds are 2D too in FM7 but 3D in Horizon I believe. Horizon also has a lot more effects in general especially environmental effects. Bare in mind the game runs at 30FPS too so it should look better in general than FM7. FH3 also has a fully dynamic time of day. So you get more interesting lighting conditions too.

In short, the games are pretty much neck and neck but FH4 should look better than FM7 for sure. However in 60FPS mode, who knows. It might be very even then.

FM7 on XB1X is full 4K. FH3 on XB1X is simply enhanced 4K. I am sure that FH4 on XB1X will be full 4K.

Ummmm … no. FH3 on the OneX is native full 4K with no dynamic scaling or checkerboarding … just like FM7 on the OneX.
