Grand repository of 417 existing Forza cars ready for FM [update 2025/5/2: shake-up]

,

I had 22 Porsche models on the list before, now 17 remains as Update 19 adds two cars from FH5 and brought back three cars from FM7:

  • 1971 Porsche 917/20
  • 1978 Porsche 935/78
  • 2016 Porsche Cayman GT4
  • 2023 Porsche 911 GT3 R
  • 2023 Porsche 911 Turbo S

Having so many models to choose from, it was virtually impossible to please all Porsche lovers but I think T10 could come with a better selection.

The Cayman GT4 '16 feels especially redundant when we already have the Cayman GTS '15 and the 718 Cayman GT4 RS '22, while the 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport '19 is the car this game really needs, with Forza GT4 division still consisting of pitiful three cars (including Ginetta locked behind paywall and Audi TT that don’t really belong to the GT4 class).

Anyway, let’s proceed to Update 20. T10 announced it’s coming with some “highly requested cars” as well as “in-game events themed around the history of Forza Motorsport games”. Therefore I expect to get several cars featured in previous games, including at least one model last seen in the X360 era (which I don’t cover on my list) alongside some brand new vehicles. Here are 10 most upvoted cars from older games in the Suggestions Hub:

  • 1088 votes - Mazda Furai
  • 380 votes - BMW M3 GTR (E46)
  • 361 votes - Toyota Supra GT500 (JZA80)
  • 319 votes - McLaren F1 GTR
  • 259 votes - Viper GTS-R (there is one topic for all generations but the first one leads in the poll)
  • 207 votes - Porsche 911 GT1-98
  • 194 votes - Pagani Zonda GR
  • 190 votes - Nissan Skyline GT500 (R34)
  • 186 votes - Mercedes CLK GTR (GT1)
  • 186 votes - Opel Astra V8 (DTM)

I’ve updated lists with cars added to Forza Horizon 5 with the Horizon Realms update and Nissan Retro Rides Car Pack DLC. Fortunately, there was only one car to be added to the main list: the 2018 Lotus Exige Cup 430 (there would be two if the 2024 Lamborgini Revuelto wasn’t added to Forza Motorsport earlier).

The rest landed on the discarded pile. I was thinking for quite a long time what to do with Nissans from the DLC and ultimately decided that they have no place in Forza Motorsport since they lack basically any sportiness… And when I came to that conclusion I knew I should also remove other cars that have the same “issue”, like Nissan Tsuru, Subaru 360, or VW Santana.

At the same time I decided to elevate to the main list models discarded previously due to “licensing issues”. Because, after all, if Gran Turismo can have Tesla and Ruf alongside Porsche, then why wouldn’t we wish for the same in Forza?

So in the end, after all these changes, there are now 417 cars on the main list (425 before this update) and 264 cars on the discarded pile (248 earlier).
