Ginetta G40 Junior 2019 - incorrectly categorized under "Forza Touring Cars" (1785140)

The new Ginetta G40 Junior is incorrectly categorized ingame under “Forza Touring Cars”. This is wholly and entirely wrong, and one of, if not the single most egregious miscategorization currently in the game.

The G40 Junior is built to the one-make spec of the Ginetta Junior Championship, which does not line up in any way shape or form with any touring car specifications, nor does it match any of the vehicles present in the “Forza Touring Cars” category (which i will refer to as FTC going forward). The G40 Junior’s bodystyle does not match with FTC, its powertrain largely does not match FTC, its performance is miles off of FTC, and even its aesthetics, though a minor point, are still incredibly far removed from FTC standard.

This car should be recategorized into its own one-make division, “G40 Junior Spec”, similar to “Mission R Spec” and the “MX-5 Cup Spec” featured in previous games (which should also make a comeback, as the mx-5 cup car being a “forza special” while the mission r gets its own spec is just criminal.). The miscategorization of this car is incredibly immersion breaking and its huge performance gap to its division mates can lead to gross uncompetitiveness and/or other balance issues due to having to be tuned into higher classes to meet the performance benchmarks set by the cars that actually belong to and have a place in this class, and as such, this should be rectified as soon as possible to allow both FTC and the G40 Junior to thrive as they should.

justwong

Interesting how its put into FTC, and not its own category, Same with the MX-5 cup car. Is it really that hard to add more car groups into the game? Surely not.

it cant be, if it was then there wouldnt be the “Mission R Spec” division. its likely an oversight or laziness or changing things for the sake of just being different to the last game or maybe some other stupid convoluted reason. whatever it is, it should be rectified and fixed, ideally with every division being given a once-over to ensure no other cases like this exist.

in the update 8 blog, it was stated that theyre working on recategorizing the cars in “Forza GT”, so hopefully things will make more sense soon and more attention will be paid to existing cars and new additions going forward to ensure such miscategorizations dont happen again.

Most likely the case of lazyness yeah, Also the fact that the KTM X-bow GT2 is getting removed from Forza GT makes absolutely no sense. It’s an GT car, An built and breed race car that DOES fit into the Forza GT group. The Lamob SCV12 does not however.

If they are going to start removing GT2 cars from Forza GT they might as well just make an GT2 category.

forza gt should just be for GT3/GTE, GT2 and GT4 should be their own distinct classes and im hoping thats what they do when they recategorize FGT in future.

most likely the reason why theyre moving the KTM GT2 into MFR instead of a GT2 class is because no other GT2 cars exist ingame, so creating a GT2 class right now instead of doing it later would essentially turn it into a KTM one-make series. this used to be a problem with GT4 until recently, but since they added the G55 GT4 there are now 2 GT4 cars, so they can create a new (albeit sparse) GT4 category

I feel like the Forza Specials division would fit this car.
Currently it’s only used for the Mazda MX5 Cup, which is still off in terms off PI, but with the right upgrades for the Ginetta I think these two could be a fun match.

Bump.

With update 15 the G40 Jr has been placed into it’s own division. I think this topic can be resolved now?

yeah ought do. def good to see they rectified this.
