At least with the Auction House/Store , the game doesn’t work in those regards.
But if you try gifting a car to someone, the car will end up no-one’s garage.
My son tried to gift a car today, it let him pick the car, pick his friend and said it was sending… A message popped a few seconds later “Trouble sending car…” and the car was no longer in my son’s garage or the recipient.
Pretty cool.
