"Ghost Files" and other problems | Forza support make only new problems

I hope, I find a solution of my problems here - I wrote with the support since a few weeks and they “fix” the problems only bigger ;-(

Ok, I played FH4 since release 2018 every day after work and only on my PC. On December 2019, my wife gave my on xmas a XBOX One X as a gift and I start to play on both platforms. Some day in January, I buy a Mercedes G63 6x6 in the auction house for 20 million CR and want collect this car next day. But the car wasn’t there! I didn’t sure between the credits - when you had earned a lot, you not sure about the balance. Ok, I wondering and test it with the direct buying of an Ford Crown Victoria. I buy the car, saved and finished and start the game again (on XBOX only). The car was not there but the credits were gone. I checked the XBOX-Services - but everything was okay and FH3 und FM7 runs without problems or errors (EVERYTHING WORKS ON BOTH).

So I opened a support ticket and I become for compensation 100 million credits and 100 super wheel spins. I played the next few weeks less than the weeks and month before. When I had more time and play more I saw, that I lost cars in my garage (double cars from wheelspins), credits and some achievements like the Marathon (!), LEGO- and other events. I open a new ticket and the guy says, my profile is corrupted, I must start new and he send an introducing for both platforms.

Ok, after a longer discussion, I reset my profile (I had at this time aprox. 680 cars in my garage, was designer level 10 with 450 shared designs and 30 shared tunings - and everything unlocked with earned credits round about 2 billion CR). Ok, I delete the profile exactly like the introducing. Next day - I’m from Germany and the Support answered in the middle of the night/early morning - the guy wrote an email and said, the new game (!!! a save after the start-race) is corrupted, too. I must start again. Ok, I start again. He gaves me, after he checking the save file, 200 million CR and 250 superwheelspins. So I start again. By taking the wheelspins, I become a lot cars in my garage (250) and the other special cars that I lost, I want buy in the auction house. But there comes the next error: Forza prompt me, I had to much of this saving files, I had to delete from the directory some of them to save new. Ok, I try to sale a few cars in auction house but this didn’t work - same prompt about the saving files. I delete a few small cars (beatles, busses, AM’s, Vauxhalls) and after that, I was able to save 2 (!) new cars. In the auction house were additional my “old” cars, where I can’t get the money or get back the not sold cars. If I try this, there comes the message, that the Forza Server is not answering, I must try later - my auctions with the new profile runs, but only one or two and not the 20 or 25 in 24hrs… okay. As I go back to my garage (round about 400 collected cars, all without design or tuning) and want load a design or tuning, I become the prompt about the saving files… The support - I answered of my last ticket - said 2 weeks later and after opening a new ticket - that the game profile is still corrupted - I must start new. Okay, I did it again. On Wednesday I start with a profile new and the support gave my 150 cars, 19 millions credits and 255 superwheelspins (why??? I lost much more… and I need no 5 VW Busses, bugs or Renaults…) and I start with download of the gift-cars. On this time I had 7 cars in the garage (I start with the Audi TT, than I select in the dirty-series the Lancia and as VIP I become 3 or 4 Forza-Cars). On the first gift car I become the prompt: You had to much of this save files, saving is not possible, I must delete some… But, and that’s crazy, I can find all the downloaded cars in my garage - but 1. only in online-mode and 2. and I can’t load/make any design or tuning… the save files prompt…

(Detailed GERMAN error-prompt: KEIN SPEICHERPLATZ Du besitzt zu viele Speicherdateien dieser Art. Bitte lösche einige aus dem Verzeichnis, bevor du neu speicherst!) (I found nothing about this message in any forums…)

I looked in my XBOX-App and my Forza Hub and at both Apps I were showed with the “old” status from the first broken profile. The work around with making new profiles didn’t fix my problem and bring only a lot of new ones.

Had anybody here a idea to solve this issue?

I think, I delete only my garage and achivements but not the complete server-files on the cloud. I delete the cars in my garage but not on the cloud and so the counter runs into the limit and count with “ghostcars” or “ghost-slots”. And nobody at the support is in the position to make this…

I wrote to the support and said, that’s their last chance to fix the dumb on their side. Otherwise I want my money back and I go back to the

after crazy weeks and mails with the support, we had - I hope - fixed the problem.

I had lost all of my shared designs and tunings, all my cars, credits and unlocked achivements - you become only a little bit of this as compensation back! Note it, before you contact the support! Everything is lost!

We reset the profile six times!!! The reset by PC didn’t worked, but nobody knows why. The reset works for the gameplay, but this way didn’t delete your garage slots. You had the old cars there, but you can’t see it, they only blocked on your online-profile. And this is the problem.The reset on XBOX (it is much easier than on PC) was after the second reset successfull. Here you can delete same files, but with another effect. Why this is so complicated, I don’t know, but now I’m happy abou working…

So if you had the problem, be sure, that you want fix it! FH5 is near and to start FH4 six times in a few days is not a great feeling…

About compensation:
The guys from the support can give you credits, SuperWheelSpins and cars (not selectable, they are from a own garage, with a few rare cars, most a duplicates of VW T2, Beetles, and other standard cars.) At the first times, (I lost over 600 cars with rare types, that cost in the auction house 20 millions, when available, over 600 million credits) I become for one lost car (therae was the start of the error) 250 SuperWheelSpins and 200 million CR. On the next times, after they think, the problem was fixed, I become at first time NOTHING. As I asked for it, I become 100 SWS. After next crash, I become 200 million CR and 500 SWS. On next I become 250 SWS and 100 million CR. Than a lot of cars, 19 million credits and 250 SWS. And on last time, I become the cars and 19 million CR… (to buy the homes and rare cars you need more as this… trust me…). Better you talk to the support about fix compensation BEFORE you follow the steps to reset. Everything what you earned is lost.

The support is not really good, you become f. e. no answer to question that you wrote them. You can only contact them by mail and the answer 1 time per day… It’s only a game but I paid for and when there is a problem, I want a solution that work…

I hope FH5 is better and I didn’t need this “support” again…

I had a information about the “support” for all players, they are had a very high game progress unlocked and than a issue with the profile:

If you must reset your profile - what is very painful because you lost everything like cars, credits, houses, designer- & tuner-level, etc. - the support tell you, they can “restore” most of the inventory. That’s right, but it’s only possible for emotes, dress, horns and a few skill points!!! You become, no matter what had before, round about 20 million credits and a lot of cars. These cars are not, what you had in your collection before. You become f. e. 4 Rimac, 5 Ferrari 288 GTO, a lot of VW Beetle and Type 2 (FE),a lot of “standard” cars (what you can buy in the car show), 6 Porsche Cayenne, 4 Porsche Cayman GTS and when you had collect the over 500 gifts, you had 1 Mercedes G63 6x6, AMG GT 4 Door, 2 E63 AMG (old version) and the Deberti Design F150. The other cars what you had unlocked in events and you can’t buy, you didn’t become back. The problem is, with this small amount of credits, you can’t buy - when they available at all - the cars in the auction house… And so is it very frustrated.

Next problem is, after the reset, the profile didn’t work correct. At my last reset (I wrote it here above) what was 9 month ago, I needed four (!) resets (after feedback from the support) if my profile on the Turn10-server was finally working. After this I become for compensation only cars (same like now) but a lot of Super Wheel Spins (500), what was more helpful than the stuff now. But the profile didn’t work right. The issue is not so big and it’s only in the LEGO addon. Here I can’t get go on in progress. I collect bricks and bricks but I can’t unlock/build the new house and so I didn’t can unlock the complete extension. This issue is known by support and the fixing is only to reset the profile (I think already on a customer support like start new after you put the power plug out and in…). After that (I played the complete weekend to go on and unlock the complete online-mode and other achievements) I finished now the season challenge by 50% and earned the Backstage Pass. But when I go to the Backstage area and want to select a car, I become a popup, I had not the permission to do this, I need a Backstage Pass. This is also a new issue in the main game after “fixing” the issue in the addon. Crazy! For this “fixing” I lost everything. I collect since the last reset 732 cars - all unique, no doubles - to complete my collection (I want have all cars without the P.O. that you can’t buy and they are very rare as seasonal achievement). This was very hard. And now they gave me 10% back and say, you must unlock the others in the game progress again. Problem on this argument is, that the unlocking is not possible because the cars (extreme rare like New Corvette, GMC’s, Toyota Corolla, AMG 63S, AMG Black Hammer, Alpine, GT500, 850i, Bentley, Camaro and the all other ones) are not to unlock in the actual challenges.

This I wrote to the support and now I wait for an answer. The time delay between Germany and - I think - USA (?) is very high. I become answer most at 15-23 o’clock. After they send me the gifts, the case was closed by them what isn’t right because it isn’t working and I has a new issue…

So is my message - when you had an small issue and the game is still working (you can play online, collect Forzathon points, earn season achievements) didn’t reset your profile!!! You can never come back to this point before reset before FH5 is released… So I go on and synchronize my old game save with the issue on LEGO from my XBOX (my backup… I played normally on PC) and play on… This is the reason after my contact and “help” from the support. The reset (their only way for fixing) makes more and other issues than before and so be careful when you like your game progress since you start. I played since release of FH4 and hat 4 issue tickets at the support what brings me 10 resets over all - and it still not working! The problem is, that FH4 is a very good game and so I play it on and on. Other racing-games didn’t come to the level of FH4 and when I want play race-game, I play FM7… I’m a hopeless Forza-Junkie and I’m proud about. But the support is only the dark side of this… and that you had to pay for car extension set even through you had buy car pass, VIP pass and later the ultimate edition… But this I understand… FH5/FM(8) need money to develop for the next gen consoles…

Okay, that’s my opinion and experience with the support…

So you deleted your whole profile??? You have the original Save? No idea if this works but use the old save delete some tunes/designs and let it sync with cloud

only for complete the information:

The error with the space for own design didn’t come why I had too much designs (max. is 500, I know) - I had at this time round about 30… this was an issue what happend after one of the many resets.

Update to the actual issue: The support is still working - the reset makes a new issue… I can’t receive the unlocked achievements in the seasonal challenge - in my case the Backstage Pass… When you had a problem, then ist never goes away and I think this happend because a really complete clean is not possible. The link to the Forza Hub doesn’t reset, the shared designs are already existing after reset and so is always old data available what can make the trouble…
