Getting the two ends of a car at the same temperature

I have a regular Diablo tuned for S-Class duty… it’s pretty good, nice and solid, but the front tires are like 30 degrees higher than the rears. Any tricks for getting the rears into the game? I feel like I’m missing out on free grip. Should I just stiffen up the rear?

The air pressure will increase as the tires heat up, set your air pressure and run a couple laps to reach good temp, look at pressure if it is high then lower it or if it is low then raise it in small increments, run more laps and keep doing this until you reach the desired pressure, you can do this independent of front and rear tires. Since you are saying that the car is stable I wouldn’t make any changes to the suspension until you get the tire pressure where you want it.

If the car feels fine, you’re in the clear. Changing a car to be “correct” isn’t going to gain you time if you can’t drive it as well as your current setup. But if you’re really set on getting those temperatures even, take cipher’s advice, or simply take some tire widths off the rear. Personally, I’d leave it just the way you have it if it handles well.

It understeers a little bit. Just wish I could transfer some load to the back, I think it has like 335s in the back and 245s up front.

Builds are typically fastest with the maximum amount of rear tire widths possible, but if you want the heats closer, then making the front and rear widths closer in size will do that for you. Personally, my recommendation would just be to set the brake bias more towards the rear. 46% is typically my starting point since I like to point the car in under braking and jam the throttle as early as possible.

Ps ^^^ that dude knows what he’s talking about! Bulin Wall5, that is!

I know too well
