Forza Motorsport 2023 overlays the wrong suggested line in drift mode to achieve a 10 line points multiplier. In Forza Motorsport 7 the suggested line was directly on top of what the game considers a 10 line making the leaderboards highly competitive and rewarding you with more points for being very accurate. In FM23 however it shows you a completely random line, taking you away from what the game considers a 10 line, rendering the assist completely useless for competitive drift scores.
From the testing I’ve done so far on Lime Rock, the 10 line is using the same 10 line as in FM7, but the new suggested line is completely different. Some maps do have a different 10 line than FM7 did, like Maple Valley for instance. But now not only is that 10 line different than it was in FM7, the suggested line still won’t align with the new 10 line this game set in place.
This is going to create a huge skill gap for competitive drift scores if left in place when leaderboards arrive. Your average drifters won’t even stand a chance at competing with the top scores. Because manually dialing in a 10 line will take 100’s of hours per track for some people just to figure out where the 10 is for every inch of the track. Not to mention the multipliers are a white number behind a white background making it impossible to dial in as you are hot lapping scores. Instead everyone will have to review game clips just to slowly see where to get closer to the 10 line.
