Game won't launch, black screen with logo, then white screen then back to desktop (no error message)

Hi, I can’t even get the game to launch. So Really keen to play this game, literally every other game I have on my PC (and I have dozens) work fine and with no issues, this is the only game that doesn’t work. As soon as I click launch, I get a white screen, which just disappears back to the desktop after 2 seconds and no error message… don’t think I will buy Horizon when it comes out unless I can get Apex to work.

I have 8GB RAM and AMD RX 480 card (8GB VRAM).

I have updated my PC and graphics card to the latest drivers but still no joy. Here is a dump of the DX diag settings.

Did you even read the system requirements ?

Yes. And you have a 9 year old CPU !!!

And a RX 480 with you CPU is a big big bottleneck, nothing more.

Here’s a benchmark of your CPU compared to the MINIMUM requiered i3-4170

Especially single core performance is the most important to run Apex.

I think you don’t need to worry about Apex or FH3, because both games won’t run on your system.

Thanks for the reply however I have managed to resolve and the game now plays perfectly fine so you aren’t correct to say forza games won’t run on my cpu.

It was a driver issue and not a cpu.

In my original post I said all other games work perfectly fine.

I downloaded the amd 16.5.2 drivers, extracted the amdx64.dll and copied it over the 16.8. 2 driver and it worked first time.

Not ideal, but looks like Amd latest drivers don’t work on forza. For all other games I will use the latest driver and for forza I will wrote a script to use the amd driver from may.
