Crashes at start up, no error msg given

So when I found out that Forza finally was going to be released on Windows, I got so hyped that my friends basiclly told me to stop talking about the game.
Kinda forgot that the game was released before I downloaded it just last week.

Well, now I’m finished with the main part of it, and drove a couple of the spotlight races before playing something else.
Then, when I started the game back up it just shut down on me before the menu loaded.
Tried to start it back up but the same thing happend, and it still does.
I had no problems running the game except some lag inbetween some of the races, but after completing the main part it stop to work.

Specs:
i5-4760K
ASUS R9 280
8GB RAM

It peaks my cpu at 100% when shutting down before the cpu goes back to normal usage again.
It’s wierd since the game worked like a charm before.

Hoping to get some answers here, cuz I still want to play the game so bad!

Edit:
My solution to the problem was to reset Windows.
I had to reset it anyways since I had some problems with my GPU drivers, so I decided to try and see if Apex worked. Voila, it worked.

Bump

Please post your dxdiag info file for full system info. …(how to)

I can’t. It don’t allow me to post that much text.
Something I should remove? Or do I have to upload it someway?

Hi,

same problem for me since more than 3 weeks. How can i upload my dxdiag file? I cannot found any option to upload files?

Thanks for your help.

Thomas

???

You create the dxdiag file and post the content here or send it via PM. The first ~ 150 lines of the content are more than enough.

bump

If you already struggle to post the content of a textfile, than maybe beta-testing a game is not the best idea …

What’s your problem ?

You copy the content of the file and post it here. ~200+ people were able to do it before …
And it’s not to long, because only the first ~ 150 lines are needed (until ‘Deinterlace Caps’).

If it’s still ‘too long’, you can split it in 1-2-3 posts.

Change your display / monitor settings from 144Hz to 60Hz and try it again.

Tried to change from 144 to 60, no change.
Only the load time took a bit longer before shutting down.
Also tried to run in 1280x720 instead of 1920x1080 (in 60Hz), but same thing happens.

Did Windows 10 perhaps install the anniversary update in the last week? If you hit “Win+R” on your desktop and type “winver” then post that here we can be sure. I ended up doing a clean install with the newest version of Windows 10, but after my initial upgrade from 1511 to 1607 Apex stopped working. I would click to open the game, a black box would open for about 2-3 seconds and close itself. Apex only worked again after a clean OS install and fresh download of the game from the Store.

Windows Version is 1511 (OS-build 10586. 494)
The game loads here, but 2-5 seconds after loading it shuts down.

Hmm, read through the thread again and I’m not sure if you’ve done a uninstall and reinstall. That’s one of the last things I can think of for now.

I tried to reinstall Apex (for the 3th time) and same problem occurs.
The load time went on for a longer time now, but still crashed.

My guess is that if I need to do a clean OS install, there has to be a fault in the system or a file that screws with the game.

Bumping the thread.

Changed, my refresh rate from 165 to 60, and game works perfectly. Couldn’t play like for a like month. Tried literally everything. Even taking out and swapping cards, and this was the problem. I’m happy, but pissed at the same time right now.

make sure your monitor driver is installed and up to date.
It may have reverted back to the default MS Generic PNP driver.

Just tried to change the refresh rate, but still no change.
Still crashes at the loading screen for me

I just tried to update my driver and still same problem.
I changed the driver as well to the one that ASUS has for Windows 8, but same problem there.
