Game restarts when you lose internet connection

Well, this was kind of a bummer. I was doing an endurance race on Daytona, when my internet connection was lost, all of a sudden I’m logged out from Xbox Live and the game just restarts, with me losing my progress of about 40-50 minutes. It happened two times in a row. Please fix this. When the Xbox Live services were down, I could still play Forza Horizon 2 and FM5 (and other games), this is the only game in which this happens. There needs to be a system to at least save the progress in things like endurance races. I don’t even have the ability to check the router, or reboot it.

Have you checked your settings on your xbox? Downloading updates in the background can restart your console sometimes for example.

Not the console =) The game restarts. For example, if something happens to the router or Xbox Live just loses connection for some reason, either the console or the game, logs the user out, on logging out this is the only Forza (although I haven’t tried FH3) which just closes itself down. When in FM5 or FH2 the Xbox Live went down, I either just lost the ability to use online features or at least needed to login again, so I could leave the console in sleep mode, restart the router, check if it was my internet connection or the MS services, come back when the Xbox Live services are up again or when my internet connection is fixed, and continue from where I left off. FM6 just closes itself down, I would at least understand, if there was still a snapshot of your progress saved somehow, so you could come back to the paused state of the game, but sadly it doesn’t even do that.

I’m still convinced it has something to do with your console, not the game itself. If it was the game it would happen to everyone that plays the game and gets disconnected. Have you tried Microsoft support?

This has been a thing since the beginning. You will notice the same behavior when you Power off your starter.

Turn your system off while you’re not connected to an online servers and the game will resume from where you left off when you come back. But if you turn your system off while connected to a Lobby, in a race, or just browsing rival. The game restart when you come back.

Is your Xbox set to be your “Home” console? If not, it’s happening because you need to be signed in to Live to play it, and as soon as you lose your Live connection the game boots you out. If it’s your Home console then anyone who plays on it can play any game you own regardless of who is signed in.

I have two Xboxen in two separate locations, and the one that is set to Home doesn’t do this, while the other one does.
