The game ran perfectly for me before the Lego expansion and ran ok on Thursday night for the most part, I quit desktop a couple of times especially on exiting menu’s, (a bit annoying but fine). On Friday however I couldn’t log in at all, kicked back to desktop after pressing continue at the start. I checked my drivers and for updates to the game all were up to date, after reading the Hear Alan Watts thread about a possible fix for changing where you spawn into the game (after many attempts) I managed to get in and changed my home to the mainland and I was able to get back into the game normally, however the problems persisted with menu’s and also when I’m just driving around except now it crashes my PC instead of just quitting to desktop.
I did a full reinstall of the game and DLC yesterday and installed the Geforce 430.97 hotfix driver neither helped at all, anybody have any idea’s of other things I could try to fix it?
Same problem here, the game crashes at start screen, and it doesn’t load my save. I deleted my save and tried to create a new one, but the problem still happens. Hope they will fix this soon.
My game is crashing right after hitting A/Enter to start the game just like above. I have been troubleshooting this and am almost positive that my server-side save has been corrupted. I put in a ticket 3 days ago and have not received an update or even a ticket status change. It will be 72 hours tonight since I entered the ticket. They must have a pretty long SLA commitment.
Anyhow, this is how I have determined that it is likely the server-side save is the culprit:
I was able to play online last night by resetting the Forza 4 app (Apps & Features-> Forza 4-> Advanced-> reset), disabling my internet (disable LAN adapter and wireless if needed), and then starting the game. After an error message with numbered code, the game begins like I have no save, right from the very beginning of the game. I then played a while before quitting and re-enabling my LAN adapter. When I start the game again, it prompts me about which save to use (local or cloud) and I chose not to decide this time. This allowed me to play online with the new, local save without issue.
The thing I am not sure about is if I were to select the newer local save when prompted after starting the game, would this overwrite my previous cloud save that I sunk a good amount of time into? Can the support team repair/recover my save? I would very much like the answer to these questions as I am fairly certain I could start over right now if they cannot recover the save. I did a good amount of leg work to narrow down the issue. Please address the ticket I put in 3 days ago. Thanks.
