Hi all,
my game goes into pause (short black screen, and can then select the “resume” button) every few laps in Multiplayer…
quite irritating, and a killer for my reputation
Anyone else having this ??
Just want to add, that if i give a nudge to the pc mouse every few minutes, then the above issue does not happen…
so somehow Forza thinks i’m idle or something ??
using a Fanatec Wheel to race.
Pc = Win 10 64 bit.
GPU = 1080GTX
At first i thought i had this only in Multiplayer… but did a few single player races, and the same thing happens…
if i do not move the mouse every 5 minutes or so, i get thrown into the pause screen during the race (short black screen, and then the pause menu where i can resume)
the annoying part is, that if i move the mouse (to avoid the issue from happening) that during the mouse movement, my wheel controls stop responding for a moment.
so it looks like Forza is only accepting 1 input device at a time, but isn’t checking all inputs for detection wether you are idle or not.
Does anyone know what all possible triggers are for the pause menu ? (i have disabled all the inputs related to “pause” in game, to avoid accidental key presses to it, but that doesn’t help)
I noticed it doing this after the last patch. I believe it’s intentional behaviour to stop people from putting the game on Super Easy, taping down the right bumper, and walking away.
I assume that’s why…
I dont think thats the case. Its seems like its simply a polling error with devices and the patch change to hide an inactive mouse pointer. Windows sees the mouse as inactive, so the game does too. If FM7 doesn’t poll devices properly or takes too long doing so, it then cant see another peripheral and you get a pause screen as it thinks there is nothing connected. This is actually a really simple issue to resolve in most cases.
On the XBox, it’s caused by the System settings for putting your display to sleep, which funnily enough defaults to 10 mins. You can max it out to an hour which prevents the problem above…for an hour anyway…
on PC, you can get the app called “Mouse Jiggler”, that should temporarily fix the issue for you until it’s patched.
