Game crashes going through speed zones

Since the summer switch last week I have been unable to play the game on multiple PCs (haven’t tried on the Xbox tbh). Every time, like clockwork, I try to go through a speed zone the game locks up and crashes back to the desktop. I’ve rebooted, reinstalled, did a game reset, etc. and the problem persists. Is this a known issue? If so, can someone point me to a fix?

Same here. Also crashes when I try to play Ranked Adventures and some other multiplayer events.

Sorry no fix. Ive had the issue from the 3rd day of owning it. Support is a joke.

Having this same problem!

God, I thought I was the only one.

I have reinstalled, reset, checked access rights on the WindowsApps folder, used the troubleshooting built in to Windows 10.

Is anyone else here running on the Windows 10 insider preview?

If I check Eventviewer i get:

Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.SunriseBaseGame_1.204.533.2_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\ForzaHorizon4.exe
Faulting module path: C:\WINDOWS\System32\ucrtbase.dll

repaired Visual C++ and stuff…but so far nothing, at least its easy to test starting from the edinburgh castle, down the road and uturn into speedzone = freeze, grey screen, crash.

Driving me nuts, I just want to play…prefferably without reinstalling the whole machine.

Same problem here.

Last week summer season: Game crashes immediately when entering the seasonal speed zone. Normal speed zones, drift zones and speed traps work fine.

Current autumn season: Game crashes immediately when entering ANY speed zone. Game crashes immediately when EXITING any drift zone. Speed traps work fine.

This problem is only happening on my PC with a GTX 1070 (latest drivers). Using a different PC with a GTX 970 (same account/savefile), the problem doesn’t happen.

Same issues here. Since the update that was rolled out through Windows Store a week ago.
I opened a support ticket on the website, but guess what! …… No reply yet :frowning:

So those of us that are having this issue, how many are on one of the last two Windows 10 Insider Preview builds and are using a GTX 1070 video card? Those are the two similarities I’m seeing so far.

On a 1060 6gb and I have been crashing randomly, however now I can’t even get in the game at all. Crashing since day 1 of purchasing 2 or 3 weeks ago.

I’m on the latest preview build and 1070Ti.

i am on the latest Insider build, but I have a GTX970 with the latest Nvidia Driver.
For me it started after the 30th October Update published.

GTX1080 but beyond that the same I guess.

What are you gaining by using a preview build, and why would Forza need to support an issue on a preview build os?

Personally I use it for testing featurues, as well as I dont need to bother with getting a W10 license.

However, I am not expecting T10 to be the ones resolving this issue, more that some other user manages to find some way to fix it or that Microsoft figures out what is causing the problem and applies a fix in the next build.

Personally so far i have:
Verified/Repaired Visual C++ libraries
Verified access rights to the WindowsApps folders where FH4 is installed
Reset Forza Horizon 4.
Reinstalled FH4.

Unfortunately none of these has been successful, so I am trying to think of other ideas and hoping that someone else manage to figure out a fix.

Otherwise its just gonna be a waiting game…It sucks, losing out on Forzathon points etc but…yeah…

I put myself in this seat

I reverted to non-insider windows (1803 17134.376) and this fixed the problem for me. Not an easy fix if you’ve been on insider builds for a while, since it required a clean re-install of windows.

Forza doesn’t need to go out of their way to support preview builds, but preview builds will eventually become release builds. If this bug is on Forza’s end then ideally it needs to be fixed before that happens.

game is also crashing during very long races (made with custom blueprints). Never experienced a crash before with original events!

Im running 1803 17134.376 update with a GTX 1060. Has anyone tried rolling back graphic drivers? Then again, this started happening from the last game update.

The GTX 1070 PC that I’m having the problem with is on latest insider build, the GTX 970 PC that doesn’t have the problem is not on an insider build.

I’ve also tried reverting to an older (august) graphics driver, that didn’t fix it. I may try installing a non-insider build and see if that fixes it.

Latest Insider build here, too. ALSO GTX 1070…
